Dibrugarh University (DU), Dibrugarh notifies Post Graduate Entrance Test (DUPGET) for Admission to MA, MCom and MSc Program for Session 2022

 
Dibrugarh University PG Admission 2022 – Online applications are invited from the intending eligible candidates for appearing in the Dibrugarh University Post Graduate Entrance Test (DUPGET) 2022 for admission MA, MCom and MSc Program conducted by Dibrugarh University and its Affiliated and Autonomous Colleges for the Academic Session 2022-2023

Eligibility Criteria

  • Master of Arts (M.A.): Bachelor’s Degree with Major/ Honours in the concerned subject securing at least 45% marks or equivalent grade point OR Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks in the subject applied for admission and 45% marks in aggregate in case of the candidates of General Programme or equivalent grade point. Candidates passed the qualifying examination in CBCS must have studied minimum 24 Credits in the subject applied for admission
  • Master of Science (M.Sc.): Bachelor’s Degree with Major/ Honours in the concerned subject securing at least 45% marks or equivalent grade point OR Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks in the subject applied for admission and 45% marks in aggregate in case of the candidates of General Programme or equivalent grade point. Candidates passed the qualifying examination in CBCS must have studied minimum 24 Credits in the subject applied for admission.
  • Master of Commerce (M.Com.): Bachelor’s Degree with Major/ Speciality/ Honours in the concerned subject securing at least 45% marks or equivalent grade point OR Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks in the subject applied for admission and 45% marks in aggregate in case of the candidates of General Programme or equivalent grade point. Candidates passed the qualifying examination in CBCS must have studied minimum 24 Credits in the subject applied for admission.
  • M.Sc. in Biotechnology and Bioinformatics: (A) Candidates with a Bachelor degree from a recognized University/Institution in Biological Sciences/ Agricultural Sciences/ Veterinary Sciences/ Pharmaceutical Sciences/Medical Sciences with minimum 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade point.
  • M.A. in Mass Communication: Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University with minimum 45%in Major/ Honours or aggregate or equivalent grade point.
  • M.A. in Women’s Studies: Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University with minimum 45%in Major/ Honours or aggregate or equivalent grade point.
  • M.A. in Applied Psychology: Candidates having Bachelor’s degree (excluding Fine Arts), including a Medical degree, and other Technical Graduates from Dibrugarh University or any other University recognized by the UGC with at least 45% marks in Major/ Honours or 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade point.
  • M.Ed. (recognized by NCTE): Obtained at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade in the following programmes:
  1. B.Ed.
  2. B.A. B.Ed., B.Sc. B.Ed.(Integrated)
  3. B.El.Ed
  4. D.El.Ed. with an undergraduate degree (with 50% marks in each)
  • M.Sc. Tech. in Applied Geophysics: Candidates having BSc. (Physics major) or, BSc. (Geology major with Physics & Mathematics) degree or, BTech. (Petroleum Engineering or Petroleum Geosciences or equivalent Earth Science related streams) degree from any UGC recognized University securing at least 60% marks in aggregate (or, OGPA 7.0 in the scale of 10.0 points).

 

Application Procedure

  • Application for appearing in the DUPGET 2022 shall be through online mode only. No other means of application shall be accepted.
  • Online Registration for submission of Application Form will begin from 16.06.2022. Application for DUPGET 2022 is through online mode only. The last date for submission of application is 16.07.2022 (till 5.00 p.m.)
  • For submission of the Online Application Form, intending candidates are advised to follow the following instructions:
  • The candidate shall be required to visit the DUPGET 2022 Portal in the website www.dibru.ac.in.
  1. The Candidate needs to register on the portal by clicking the “Register” button and providing his/her name, mobile number and a password. The mobile number will be verified through an OTP. Please remember the password for login.
  2. After successful registration, the candidate needs to login using his/her mobile number and the password.
  3. After login, the candidate needs to click on the “Apply” button corresponding to the link of “DUPGET 2022” which will lead to an application form. The candidate needs to fill up the application form step by step.
  4. After completion of the filling-up the Form Candidate needs to click the button “Submit and Review”. A preview of the filled-up form will be displayed. Candidates are advised to carefully cross-check the information and if anything needs to be corrected at this stage, they can go back and edit
  5. After ensuring that all the information displayed on the Preview is correct, the candidate needs to click ‘Pay now & Submit the application” and the pay the application fee of Rs 700/- only through online mode(Debit Card/Credit Card/Internet Banking).
  6. The application form will be considered finally submitted only when the application fee is successfully paid by the candidate and an online receipt is generated confirming the payment.
  7. There will be a button to download your Application Form and Admit Card for future reference.
  8. The Candidate shall have to take a print out of the Admit Card and bring the same to the Examination Hall on the Date of the Test for verification.
  9. The Submission of Online Application Forms shall be automatically closed after the last date.

 

Selection Criteria for Admission through DUPGET, 2022

  • For the 80% of seats reserved for the students graduated from Dibrugarh University, shall be selected on the merit of the DUPGET, 2022 (i.e. the weightage of DUPGET 2022 shall be of 100%) in addition to the fulfillment of minimum eligibility criteria.
  • For the 20% of the seats reserved for the graduates of all recognized Universities other than Dibrugarh University, the candidates shall also be selected on the merit of the DUPGET, 2022 only subject to the fulfillment of minimum eligibility criteria.
  • A Candidate is eligible to appear in the DUPGET 2022 in maximum 4 (four) subjects. Moreover, they should not apply more than 1 (one) subject from the same Shift as given below-
    • Shift 1: Anthropology, Chemistry, Education, English, Mathematics, Applied Geology, History
    • Shift 2: Assamese, Biotech & Bio-info, Philosophy, Political Science, Bodo
    • Shift 3: Applied Psychology, Economics, Life Sciences (Zoology, Life Sciences (Botany), Physics, Statistics, Geography, M.Ed.
    • Shift 4: Sociology, Mass Comm, M.Com. in (i) Finance and (ii) Marketing, M.Sc. Tech in Applied Geophysics, Women Studies

 

Nature of the DUPGET

  1. The DUPGET shall be of 100 Marks and of 2 (two) hours duration.
  2. It shall be conducted in a single paper of the concerned subject containing 100 Objective Type Multiple Choice questions carrying 1 (one) mark each.
  3. The Question Paper shall be in English excluding the language subjects.
  4. There shall be a provision of negative marking of 0.25 (point two five) mark for incorrect response to a question.
