About NMMS Scheme
- The Ministry for Human Resource Development, Govt. of India has launched centrally sponsored NMMSS. Under this scheme an exam will be conducted and selected candidates will get the scholarship.
- Every year 1,00,000 students will be selected throughout India. Out of which 4087 scholarships are being allotted to Residuary Andhra Pradesh and have been distributed among the districts basing on enrollment in VII & VIII Classes and Child population for each academic year.
- The Director of Govt. Exams, Andhra Pradesh, Vijayawada is conducting NMMS Exam from August 2008.

Scholarship Amount
- The selected student shall receive a sum of Rs.12000/- per annum for which the selected student shall have to open a joint Savings Bank Account with their parents in any SBI or in any Nationalized Bank which has core banking facility/ESC facility
- Accounts other than Savings bank will be rejected at the time of disbursement of Scholarship
Eligibility Criteria
- A candidate who scored at least 55% of marks in case of OC/BC and 50% of marks in case of SC/ST or equivalent grade i.e., B+ for all categories in class VII Examination studied during the year 2022-23.
- A candidate who is studying in Government, Local Body (ZP/Municipal), Govt. Aided, AP Model (day scholars only) and MPUP (Running 8th class) schools only
- Whose parental annual income (both Parents put together) is below Rs.3,50,000/- from all sources for which candidates have to produce latest original/attested Annual Income Certificate issued by the MRO, in case of Private employee, certificate issued by the employer in case of Govt. employee.
Application Procedure
- Every Selected student should Register and submit his/her application on National Scholarship Portal i.e., www.scholarships.gov.in. After successful submission of application on portal, concerned Institute Nodal Officer (INO) should verify the application through INO Login and the same should be verified by concerned District Nodal Officer (DNO) through DNO Login. Otherwise student will not get the scholarship forever.
- The student should verify Student Login frequently for payment status on National Scholarship Portal. Status is only available in Student Login.
- The Ministry of Education, New Delhi will sanction the scholarship amount and send the list to the SBI, New Delhi for disbursement of scholarship through Aadhaar Based Payment System.
Exam Fee
- Exam Fee is Rs.100/- for OC and BC students 85 Rs.50/- for SC & ST students
- The exam fee has to be paid through SBI Collect only (follow user guide available in website www.bse.ap.gov.in). Demand Drafts will not be accepted.
Parental Income
- The candidate’s parental income should be below Rs. 3,50,000/- p.a. from all the sources.

Qualifying Percentage
- GEN, BC & PH: 40% (36 MARKS)
- SC & ST: 32% (29 MARKS)
- Note: The student must Qualify both the tests i.e., Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) with at least 40% marks in aggregate taken together for these two tests.
