Trip to Kerala

Dear diary
On the 11th of march, I returned home from my vacation in Kerala. The trip was a memorable one and it was the second road trip that I had planned with my friends.
We started from Mumbai on the 4th. The route went along the western ghats and the scenic beauty left me spellbound. We crossed several rivers and rivulets and had a night stop at Goa too. We reached Kerala on the 6th of March.
At Kerala, we stayed in the boats available on rent in the backwaters of the famous Malabar coast.
We also visited the tea and spice gardens. I took the famous Kerala massage also. It was such a relaxing experience.
The trip was a much needed respite from our hectic lives and we all made the most of it.
This is all for now.

Today I got a chance to attend a webinar. It was hosted by my favourite writer Chetan Bhagat and the topic was “How to establish World Peace”.
He is my favourite writer so I was very excited to attend the webinar.
Mr. Bhagat told us about the impact of wars on the world economy and how the violence and bloodshed destroys families.
He discussed the ongoing Russia Ukraine war and also made us aware of the role of the NATO countries and how important it is to avoid the onset of the third world war.
It was a great session and I am delighted on having made the best of this golden opportunity.

Campaign against smoking
Dear diary

Today I got a chance to be a part of a volunteer group. We campaigned against smoke and spread awareness among the residents.
I had made two posters, one on “Smoking kills” and the other on “Trees are our saviour as they clean the air”.
Today, air pollution is one of the biggest health hazard and the smoke from industries and vehicles is a major contributor in its increment. Thus we tried our best to reach the maximum number of people.
We also distributed face masks to the pedestrians so that they breathe cleaner air.
I hope our efforts will have a positive effect.
That’s all for today.

Meeting with an old friend

Dear diary
Today, in the market I met Ridhima, a school friend after five years. It felt so good to see her. She has changed so much!! She has gained a lot of height and I could not recognize her at first.
It was only when I heard her voice that I found it familiar and called her.
Ridhima and I went by the same bus and studied together for ten years. Her brother and my brother were also in the same class.
Now she is pursuing legal studies and is in the hostel. She was on her vacations and was in the mall when we bumped into each other.
I am still so excited because all my childhood memories were refreshed on seeing her. It was nice meeting her.

That’s all for now.

Dear diary

Hi! I am back from my two-day trip to Solan. It was a blast! As you know, my best friends are from Shimla. So, they had an opportunity to visit their dear old hills.

We embarked on our journey by bus at 6 in the morning. On our way to the campsite, we played some games on the bus and sang our favourite tunes. When we arrived, we were welcomed with aloo parantha and butter as our breakfast. Then we went on and did some sporty activities. My fear of heights kept me from enjoying that. On the next day, we explored the market and bought some souvenirs. Our strict class teacher was somehow pretty easy-going and fun. That was a pleasant surprise! My best friends pranked me a couple of times by taking advantage of my phobia.

I wish it would be Children’s Day everyday!

Dear diary

Hello! Today, I went on a picnic with my family to the Rose Garden. I thought I would die under the sun’s scorching gaze, but it turned out to be the best family trip we’ve ever had.

My mother packed delicious sandwiches, and mouth-watering snacks in a jute basket. I wore a white, light dress with a sunhat. I volunteered to be the photographer. My little brother packed some board games. Dad played catch with us while Mom arranged our spot. Then, we heard her give the loudest shriek and we ran towards her. We found that she got terrified of a huge beetle. Then we ate while playing monopoly.
It was after a very long time that I got a chance to spend time with my family. I captured beautiful moments with my camera. I realized that my photography skills are getting better.

Dear diary

Hello! Today, the long-awaited results came out. As you know, I was not expecting top marks. Well, I actually topped the district.

Throughout 11th and 12th, I’ve seen classmates and batchmates smarter and quicker than me. Their productivity always scared me, making me feel insecure of my efforts. However, something changed inside of me. I decided to just go at my own pace. Also, unlike others, I took time to reflect and recapitulate. Therefore, even though I was working at a slower pace, I was not in a panic.

Of course, the whole family, including me and my friends, were jubilant at my success. My parents beamed at me. It feels as though all those tears, and feelings of frustration were worth it. I also promised to give a huge party on this auspicious occasion.

I cannot wait for my future, which looks brighter already.

Q.8- Today, i.e. on 15th of July, 2023, you spent an entire day without electricity due to continuous thunderstorms. Write a diary entry sharing your experience.
Ans.

20:25 p.m.

Dear diary

Today, the weather was bad. It was raining cats and dogs, the entire water present in the country seemed to be pouring down on us. Even though I love rain and thunder, I don’t like it when the walls start leaking and flood alerts start ringing.

I woke up in the pool of my own sweat. I then learnt that the air conditioner had stopped working in the middle of the night. Nothing was working, even the Internet. Mom got a message from the school saying that we would have online classes that day. But even those got cancelled. So I had nothing to do but study, complete pending homework, eat, and help Mom tackle the leakage. It was a bit boring, but we lightened ourselves up by playing board games.

The elders say that we, the young generation, cannot survive a single day without electricity. What an exaggeration! Anyways, the electricity is not back yet. I will sleep uncomfortably tonight.

Q.9- You were working from home as the office was under renovation. Due to that, you were able to do the tasks which you had been ignoring for a long time. Write a diary entry, sharing your productive experience.

Dear diary

The office has closed down for renovation. Although there is no confirmed date when the office will reopen, the renovation will definitely take at least two weeks.

Due to that, I was able to do all those tasks which had been pushed aside. That includes cleaning, dusting and organising my bedroom. Tomorrow, I’ll do the same for another room. Eventually, and hopefully, I will be able to make my room look more comfortable, neat and presentable. Also, I was able to pick up some of my hobbies like playing guitar and painting landscapes.

Overall, today was a very productive day. I hope to keep up this level of productivity throughout my life.

Dear diary

Today, I had a marvellous time with my family. Guess what? We all went for a road trip to Delhi.

We started out at 7 in the morning. Actually, we had planned to get up at 6 but since it was summer vacation, I wasn’t in the habit of getting up at 5 to catch the bus. We reached Delhi in about four hours. During those four hours, we played games, ate snacks and discussed various interesting things. Mom played a one-hour-long educational podcast, which was so boring that I fell asleep after 20 minutes. She was upset with me, but cheered up when I asked her to play her favourite game with me.

When we reached Delhi, we went to G.K. Market and ate breakfast there. After some shopping, we went to Connaught Place, clicked some photographs, and had lunch. Then, we set out for home. We reached back at 8 in the evening.

Bye-bye!
