Registration Process for Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2024 begins, Apply now
The Consortium of National Law Universities has begun the registration process for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2025 on its official website from today i.e July 15, 2024 and will conclude on October 15, 2024. As per the notification on the official website, CLAT 2025 will be held in offline mode on December 1, 2024 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. (Candidates belonging to PWD Category 2:00 P.M. to 4:40 P.M.)
Application fee for CLAT 2025 is Rs. 4,000 and for candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwD and BPL categories are required to pay the application fee of Rs. 3,500.
CLAT is a national level entrance exam for admissions to undergraduate and postgraduate law programs offered by 22 National Law Universities in the country.
CLAT 2025 Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates completed 10+2 or equivalent examination with at least 45% marks (General / OBC / PWD / NRI / PIO / OCI categories) 40% in case of SC/ST category or appearing in the board examination 2025 will be eligible to apply for Undergraduate (Five-year Integrated Law Degree) Program.
- Candidates who have completed LLB or equivalent examination with at least 50% (40% in case of SC/ST category) of marks or equivalent grade are eligible to apply for Postgraduate (one-year LLM Degree) Program. Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in April/May 2025 are also eligible to apply.

UG Question Paper Format
- Maximum Mark – 120
- Duration of CLAT 2025 Exam – 2 Hours
- Multiple-Choice Questions – 120 questions of one mark each
- Negative Marking – 0.25 Mark for each wrong answer
- Subject Areas with weightage
- English Language – 22-26 questions, or roughly 20% of the paper
- Current Affairs, including General Knowledge – 28-32 questions, or roughly 25% of the paper
- Legal Reasoning – 28-32 questions, or roughly 25% of the paper
- Logical Reasoning – 22-26 questions, or roughly 20% of the paper
- Quantitative Techniques – 10-14 questions, or roughly 10% of the paper
PG Question Paper Format
- Maximum Marks – 120
- Duration of exam – 2 Hours
- Multiple-Choice Questions – 120 questions of one mark each
- Negative Marking – 0.25 Mark will be deducted for each wrong answer

Steps to fill CLAT 2025 Registration Form
The candidates can fill out the CLAT exam application form with the help of the following steps:
- Step 1: Visit the official website of the Consortium of NLU at https://consortiumofnlus.ac.in/
- Step 2: Click on the candidate’s CLAT Registration link in the notification bar.
- Step 3: Now, fill in the necessary details of the candidate, such as the mobile number and e-mail ID, to register on the website.
- Step 4: After submitting, an OTP will be generated on the candidate’s registered mobile no. for validation.
- Step 5: Now, the candidate will have to log in using the registered mobile no. or email address.
- Step 6: After login, the candidates must fill in all the necessary details on the page.
- Step 7: Now click on submit button (no further editing will be allowed after submitting the form).
- Step 8: Now, candidates should enter the preference order for all 22 NLUs as per their preference.
- Step 9: Next, upload all the required documents in the specified format and size.
- Step 10: Submit the form and pay the CLAT exam fee online using the Net banking/credit/debit card options.
- Step 11: After submitting the fees, the candidates must save the CLAT application form and take the printout for future reference.
