The Magic of the Taj Mahal

 

It is said “It’s better to see something once than hear about it a thousand times”

I recently visited the Taj Mahal with my family. It’s in Agra, a city in Uttar Pradesh. I was super excited because I had seen pictures of it in books and on TV.

 

My guide told us that the Taj Mahal was built by a king named Shah Jahan in memory of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It took around 22 years to build. They say it’s a symbol of true love.

 

The Taj Mahal is very beautiful. It is one of the seven wonders of the world. It’s made of white marble and shines so bright in the sunlight. The main building is shaped like a big onion. There are four tall towers around it. The inside is very beautiful and has lots of intricate designs.

 

We had to go through a security check before entering. There were lots of guards and cameras. We couldn’t carry big bags or water bottles inside.

 

There were signs everywhere telling people to be quiet and not to touch anything. Most people followed the rules, but some were careless.

 

Visiting the Taj Mahal was a dream come true. It’s even more beautiful in person. I felt very lucky to see such a wonderful place. I learned a lot about history and architecture. I hope to visit it again someday.
