The Full form of ISC is Indian School Certificate. ISC refers to 10+2 or 12th class examination conducted by the CISCE (Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations). This council is a private board of education which was established on 3rd November 1958 by University of Cambridge Local Examination. The scores obtained in the ISC are accepted by the universities of the UK.
The examination of ISC is formed and designed in accordance with the guidelines of the New Education Policy 1986. English is a mandatory subject in ISC board and the exam is also conducted in English language except the language subjects. Those students who cleared the exam of ISC have more chances to get admission into A-Level colleges than the students of respective councils and boards.
The common subjects of ISC board are: English, Physics, Chemistry, Math, Biology, Geography, Political Science, Economics, History, Environmental education, Accounts, and more. Only the students of class 12th, who are attending a full-time course at any of the schools that is affiliated to CISCE, can appear for ISC Examinations under the current policies of CISCE. Home-schooled or corresponding course students aren’t allowed to appear for the Examinations of ISC under normal circumstances.
