Prepare notes
Students can prepare notes while revising. Read any topic 2 to 3 times. Then write down the points. In this way, you will not only learn but also get your notes. Remember to make the notes visually attractive by using bullets. Also, use different ink colours for different subheadings. Students can draw tables, flowcharts and diagrams. These will make the notes visually attractive and thus, last minute revision will become quicker. A day before the exam, simply read through the notes and you are ready to face the exam the next day.
Revise through group study.
Students can take part in group study. This is a good way to clar doubts, strengthen the weak topics and gain confidence. A group of friends can get together. One student who is good in a topic can tutor his friends on it and vice versa. In this way, one person gets to revise the topic and the other person gets to clear his doubts at the same time. Group study is recommended for clearing doubts and for solving difficult questions. It is a good technique for problem solving.
Target the scoring portions in exams
Questions such as those based on diagrams (Science), map work (Geography) and constructions (Mathematics) are scoring. A student can get full marks if he has practised them. One needs to draw perfectly, label neatly and the time taken for these questions is also lesser as compared to other questions. I recommend that students should focus on such questions to increase their score. Similarly, you can score full marks in internal assessment too which comprises of practicals, viva, notebooks.
We can conclude that students must start early to prevent last-minute stress. Prepare for the board exams well in advance so that you are confident on the examination day.
