- Eligible candidates desirous of pursuing Ph.D. Program (both Full-time/Part-time) in the University Departments, Constituent Colleges, Affiliated Colleges and other Approved Research Centres of Alagappa University are instructed to apply in the prescribed format for the Pre-Registration Qualifying Entrance Examination (written only).

- Closing Date 12th August 2022 05.00 p.m.
- Date of Examination at University Campus, Karaikudi : 21st August 2022, 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.
Alagappa University PhD Admission 2022 Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates who have passed through 10+2+3+2/11+1+3+2/10+3+3+2 pattern alone can apply
- 50 % of marks for SC/ST/OBC (non creamy layer) / Person with Disability
- 55 % of marks for all Other Candidates
- M.Ed. (Education / Special Education) / M.A. Education is essential for a Ph.D. in Education.
- Candidates who are in the final year / semester of their P.G. Degree may also apply for the Pre-Registration Qualifying Entrance Examination for Ph.D. Program.
- NET/SET/GATE– Qualified Candidates in the relevant discipline are exempted from clearing the Entrance Exam. They need not apply for the examination

Exam Pattern
- The Entrance Examination for Ph.D. Program is Compulsory for all the Candidates (except those with NET/SET/GATE) irrespective of possessing or not possessing M.Phil degree.
- Written Exam Medium : English
- Duration : 90 Minutes
- The question paper will be in MCQ pattern.
- The Standard of Question paper will be PG Level for Subject Area.
- For all candidates seeking admission in all disciplines except Ph.D. in Tamil Literature
- Test of Relevant Subject Knowledge : 75 MCQs
- Total : 75 marks
- For candidates seeking admission to Ph.D. in Tamil Literature
- Test of Subject Knowledge in Tamil : 75 MCQs
- Total : 75 marks
