This certification signifies that the person possesses knowledge in the areas of financial analysis, planning, decision support, control and professional ethics. Offered by the Institute of Management Accountants, the CMA is a U.S. based globally recognized certification. CMA-certified professionals work in organizations and industries of all sizes and types, including manufacturing and services, private and public enterprises, academic institutions, Government entities (USA), not-for-profit organizations, and multinational corporations worldwide.
Globally, CMA is considered as a better Career in Management Accounting than Cost Accountants of SAARC Countries. Till date, there are over 40,000 active CMAs with more than 80,000 candidates in the current pipeline. To obtain certification, candidates must meet an educational requirement, pass a rigorous exam, experience requirement, and they must demonstrate a commitment towards continuous learning through CPE (continuing professional education). Before 2010, the CMA exam was organized into 4 parts: Management Accounting and Reporting, Business Analysis, and Strategic Management.
