Formation of YUVA Tourism Clubs in CBSE Affiliated Schools

As an initiative to celebrate ‘Azadi ka Mahotsav celebration’, the Ministry of Tourism has launched the concept of ‘Yuva Tourism Club’ to promote India’s tourism aspect by the means of young ambassadors of the country. CBSE has decided to incorporate this concept in all the schools affiliated to the Board.

The mission of this initiative is to indulge young students in promoting our rich cultural heritage and becoming ambassadors of India tourism. It is expected that this will develop and nurture the interest in tourism among students.

According to the Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, it will help students to become aware of domestic destinations, and promote tourism in India. The tourism clubs will make the students more aware of their state’s tourism aspect, and also inform them about the cultural aspect of their neighborhood.

The schools are asked to form YUVA tourism clubs in their campus, with a minimum of 25 members, who will be responsible in communicating the mission, and growing interest in tourism among the students.

The Union Ministry has also prepared a handbook that asks the schools to take the students in group-travel to nearby tourist spots, engage them in the local culture, and thus boost the local economy. The students can share their ideas, thoughts, and services to the local tourist spots, and help them grow their economy bit by bit.

The students of class 11 and 12 are also given separate responsibilities such as creating interesting travel itineraries, diving deep into the history of the tourist spots, creating and maintaining tourism club events, etc.
