To promote Sports/Physical Education at school level Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced a vocational course in sports on fitness and gym operation from the academic session 2012-13.
Career in sports is gaining popularity not only because of games but also because of the other options such as sports management, medicine, teaching, sports management, sports nutrition, physiotherapy, fitness experts, etc.
Various undergraduate programs to PhD level courses related to sports are now being offered by many reputed colleges and universities. Provision of Sports Quota for further admission and Government Sector jobs has also created interest among the sports frenzy people.
Not only boys but the girls too are touching sky and making their dreams come true with the sparkling career in the sports. According to the tennis star Sania Mirza “People want to stick to the conventional career options when it comes to girl. I feel that people should accept sports as a potential career option and motivate their children towards sports at a young age, Even if it is something out of the ordinary, parents should support their children instead of enforcing their own choices on them,”
