National Sanskrit University PhD Entrance Test (VVET) 2023 – National Sanskrit University (Erstwhile Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth, Deemed University), Tirupati AP invites applications for admission to PhD Program for the academic year 2022-23.
National Sanskrit University, Tirupati will conduct Vidyavaridhi (Ph.D.) Entrance Test (VVET-2023) for Vidyavaridhi (Ph.D.) program on 13th & 14th May, 2023.

Eligibility Criteria
For Vidyavaridhi Entrance Test in Shastras:
- All those candidates who want to appear for Vidyavaridhi Entrance Test should have passed Acharya/M.A.Sanskrit (with specialization in the applied Shastra) or an equivalent degree (Sanskrit) from Universities duly recognized by University Grants Commission obtaining at least 55% marks in aggregate.
- For Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC(Non Creamy layer)/Person with Disability (PwD) categories should have passed Acharya/M.A Sanskrit(with specialization in the
- applied Shastra) / equivalent degree (Sanskrit) with a minimum of 50% of Marks.
- Foreign candidates who have passed Acharya/M.A. (Sanskrit)/equivalent degree (Sanskrit) with 55% or more marks in aggregate from any University outside India can
- also apply for the VVET through the Ministry of External Affairs & Ministry of Education, Govt. of India.
- For appearing in the test, such candidates also shall be considered eligible who have appeared/appearing for Acharya / M.A Sanskrit(with specialization in the applied shastra) /equivalent degree (Sanskrit) but their result is awaited, Such candidates shall be required to submit their mark-sheets showing the prescribed percentage of marks required for the registration, before the admission.
- Those eligible candidates who have passed NET/SLET/SET/Vishisht Acharya (M.Phil), in Concerned Shastra/Subject are exempted from the Vidyavaridhi Entrance Test, but they must apply online by paying the prescribed fee.
For Vidyavaridhi Entrance Test in Education:
- Those who wish to appear for Vidyavaridhi in Education should have Shiksha Acharya (M.Ed.) or Acharya/M.A(Sanskrit)/equivalent degree (Sanskrit) with 55% of Marks along with P.G. Degree in Education with 55% of Marks.
- For Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non Creamy layer) /Person with Disability (PwD) categories, with minimum 50% marks in Shiksha Acharya (M.Ed.) or
- Acharya/M.A(Sanskrit)/equivalent degree (Sanskrit) with 50% of Marks along with P.G. Degree in Education/M.Ed with minimum 50% of Marks.
- Foreign candidates who have passed Acharya/M.A. (Sanskrit)/equivalent degree (Sanskrit) / M.Ed with 55% marks in the aggregate from any University outside India along with P.G. Degree in Education with 55% of Marks can also apply for the VVET through the Ministry of External Affairs & Ministry of Education, Govt. of India.
- For appearing in the test, such candidates also shall be considered eligible who have appeared for Shiksha Acharya (M.Ed.) but their result is awaited or those who appeared for P.G. Degree in Education but their result is awaited, along with Acharya/ M.A (Sanskrit)/equivalent degree (Sanskrit)/ M.Ed with 55% of Marks.
- Such candidates shall be required to submit their mark-sheets showing the prescribed percentage of marks required for the registration, before the admission.
- Those eligible candidates who have passed NET/SLET/SET/Vishishtacharya (M.Phil) in Education are exempted from the Vidyavaridhi Entrance Test, but they must apply online by paying the prescribed fee.
- NOTE : The candidates pursuing Vishishtacharya (M.Phil.) are not exempted from Entrance Test.

- The facts mentioned in the online application will be duly verified at the time of examination and admission.
Application Fee
- For General /Other candidates : Rs. 1500/-
- For SC/ST/PwD candidates : Rs. 1200/-
Selection Process
- The admission into Vidyavaridhi program will be given according to merit.
- Vidyavaridhi Entrance Test is only qualifying in nature. Mere qualifying in entrance Test will not ensure admission in Vidyavaridhi (Ph.D) Program. After the announcement of Entrance Test Result, Department wise list of qualified candidates will be prepared after merging exempted candidates who have applied for Entrance Test.
- Those eligible candidates who have passed NET/SLET/SET/Vishishtacharya (M.Phil) in Education are exempted from the Vidyavaridhi Entrance Test, but they must apply online by paying the prescribed fee.
- The candidates pursuing Vishishtacharya (M.Phil.) are not exempted from Entrance Test.
- All the above said candidates (Qualified in VVET and Exempted Candidates) have to present themselves before the Department Research Committee (DRC) for admission.
- Merit-list for admission will be prepared by DRC as per National Sanskrit University, Tirupati rules and the information of successful candidates will be uploaded on the University website.
