The West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam 2021
It is the Common Entrance Examination in offline mode (paper based examination) for admission to different Degree Level Courses in Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy and Architecture in Universities, Govt. Colleges as well as Self Financing Engineering & Technological Institutes in the State of West Bengal.
Eligibility Criteria for WBJEE 2021
Eligibility criteria of WBJEE 2021 include the restriction on nationality, age, educational qualification, and domicile. | |||
Nationality | The applicant must be a citizen of India. | ||
Age Limit | A candidate must be at least 17 years of age (as on December 31, 2021) to appear for the exam. This means an aspirant should have been born on or before December 31, 2004. There is no upper age limit for appearing in the WBJEE 2021 | ||
However, for admission to the Marine Engineering Course, the lower age limit is 17 years as on December 31, 2021 and the upper age limit is 25 years as on December 31, 2021. | |||
Educational Qualification : | |||
For Engineering Courses | Candidate must have passed the Qualifying Exam i.e. the ‘10+2’ Exam with Physics and Mathematics along with any one of Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Computer Application/Technical Vocational Subject as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in all the three subjects as stated above in regular class mode. | ||
Must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category e.g. SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD) in the above three subjects taken together. Must have passed English in the ‘10+2’ Exam with at least 30% marks. |

The Board of the said Qualifying Exam must be recognized by the Central Government or State Government concerned. | |||
For Pharmacy Courses | Passed ‘10+2’ Exam with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Biology as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in all the three subjects as stated above in regular class mode. | ||
Must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category e.g. SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD) in the above three subjects taken together. Must have passed English in the ‘10+2’ Exam with at least 30% marks. |

Five Year Degree Course in Architecture | Candidates must qualify either in NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by the COA (Council of Architecture) or in the Paper-II of JEE-Main, 2021 conducted by the CBSE Board. | ||
Important consideration in terms of academic qualification : | |||
A candidate appearing in the Qualifying Exam i.e. the ‘10+2’ Exam in 2021 may sit in the WBJEE-2021 but shall not be eligible for allotment of seat for admission if he/she does not pass the Qualifying Exam with the required minimum eligibility criteria.
