IIT Madras M.Tech Admission Eligibility Criteria 2022

  • Candidates qualified in GATE 2020, GATE 2022 or GATE 2022 and satisfying any one of the following:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture from educational Institutions approved by AICTE/ Govt.
  2. Master’s degree in Chemistry/ Life Sciences/ Mathematics/ Physics related subjects from educational Institutions approved by UGC/ Govt.
  3. Degrees obtained through Distance Education/ Correspondence Mode for the qualifying degree specified in [(i) or (ii)]
  4. Candidates yet to appear or have appeared in the final exam for the qualifying degree specified in [(i) or (ii)] and whose results are likely to be declared by July 15, 2022.
  5. Associate membership holders from professional bodies.
  6. Foreign Nationals who have obtained a qualifying degree in India/ Abroad.
  • Candidates with B. Tech. Degree from IITs with a CGPA of 8.0 and above can apply without GATE score

  • Eligible candidates can apply online through official website http://mtechadm.iitm.ac.in/IB.php
  • Please note that to apply with a valid GATE Score or as IIT B.Tech. Graduate, you have to register in the website

Application Fee

For GATE qualified candidates and IIT graduates with B.Tech. Degree:

  • For SC, ST, and PWD/Female Candidates – Rs. 200/-
  • For All Other Candidates – Rs. 400/-

For Sponsored Candidates

  • For SC, ST, and PWD Candidates – Rs. 250/-
  • For All Other Candidates – Rs. 500/-
  • Mode of Payment – Through online mode

 

Admission Process

  • Admission to candidates (who are not required to take Suitability Test/Interview) will be finalized strictly in the order of merit as per the GATE Score (CGPA & Department Review for IIT Graduates) and on the basis of choices given by them in the application.
  • Candidates requiring Suitability Test/ Interview will be informed by the respective Department as per schedule.
