NCERT CEE 2024 – National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) invites applications for the Common Entrance Exam (CEE) 2024 for admission to the following programmes offered at the Regional Institutes of Education located at Ajmer, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, Mysuru, and Shillong for the academic session 2024

Important Dates

  • Last date for submission of qualifying examination marks for appearing applicants of B.Sc.B.Ed./B.A.B.Ed./M.Sc.Ed. programme is 20th June, 2024.
  • Last date for submission of qualifying examination marks for appearing applicants of B.Ed./ B.Ed./M.Ed./M.Ed. programme is 30th June, 2024
  • Date of CEE-2024: 16/06/2024
  • The result of B.Sc.B.Ed./B.A.B.Ed./M.Sc.Ed. programmes will be declared on 05/07/2024.
  • The result of B.Ed./M.Ed. programme will be declared on 10/07/2024.

 

Eligibility Criteria

B.Sc.B.Ed. Four Year Integrated

  • Candidates seeking admission to Physical Science Group must have passed with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) (M stands for Mathematics or Statistics) and those seeking admission to Biological Science Group (CBZ) must have passed Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) (B stands for Biology or Biotechnology) at +2 level.
  • Candidates must have passed +2 / Hr. Sec./ Sr. Sec. or any equivalent examination recognized by University/ Board with at least 50% marks in overall aggregate of qualifying examination (relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates). The qualifying examination should be recognized by the affiliating universities of the RIEs.
  • Candidates who have passed +2/Hr. Sec./Sr. Sec. or any equivalent examination in 2022, 2023 and appearing/ appeared in 2024 only will be considered.

B.A.B.Ed. Four Year Integrated

  • Candidates must have passed +2/ Hr. Secondary/ Sr. Secondary or equivalent examination in Science and Commerce streams or in Arts streams with at least 50% marks in aggregate (relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates) in 2022, 2023 and appearing/ appeared in 2024 only will be considered.

M.Sc.Ed. Six Year Integrated

  • Candidates seeking admission to M.Sc. Ed. (Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics) must have passed with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) (M stands for Mathematics or Statistics) at +2 level.
  • Candidates must have passed +2 / Hr. Sec./ Sr. Sec. or any equivalent examination recognized by University/ Board with at least 50% marks in aggregate of qualifying examination (relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates). The qualifying examination should be recognized by the affiliating university of RIE, Mysuru (University of Mysore).
  • Candidates who have passed +2 / Hr. Sec./ Sr. Sec. or any equivalent examination in 2022, 2023 and appearing/ appeared in 2024 only will be considered.

B.Ed.-M.Ed. Three Year Integrated

  • A postgraduate degree in science/ social science/humanities/commerce from a recognized institutes/ universities with a minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade ((relaxation by 5% for SC/ ST/ PwD Candidates).

B.Ed. Two Year

  • Candidates with at least 50% marks in Bachelor’s Degree and /or in the Master’s degree in Science/ Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology (with Science or Mathematics) or in Bachelor’s Degree and /or in the Master’s Degree in Social Science/Humanities are eligible for admission to the programme (relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates).
  • The candidates should upload only the marks secured in degree examination as qualifying marks.
  • Candidates with at least 50% marks in Bachelor’s Degree in Science/ BE/B.Tech. (science/ mathematics) are eligible for B.Ed. (science and math group) and candidates with Bachelor’s degree in social science/ humanities or Master degree in social science/humanities are eligible for B.Ed. (Social Science and Language group), respectively.

M.Ed. Two Year

  • Candidates seeking admission to the M.Ed. programme should have obtained at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade (relaxation by 5% for SC/ ST/ PwD Candidates) in the following programmes / courses from any University / College / Institute recognized by affiliating universities:
    • B.Ed.
    • B.A.B.Ed./B.A.Ed./, B.Sc.B.Ed. /B.Sc. Ed.
    • B.El.Ed.
    • D.El.Ed. with a Bachelor’s degree in Arts/Science (With 50% marks in each)

 

DOMICILE REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION TO DIFFERENT RIES

  • RIE, Ajmer: B.Ed. and M.Ed.
      • For all programmes at RIE Ajmer only the students from the states/UTs of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Chandigarh are eligible.
  • RIE Bhubaneswar: B.Sc.B.Ed. (PCM and CBZ Group), B.A.B.Ed., B.Ed., and M.Ed.
      • For B.Sc.B.Ed., B.A.B.ED., and M.Ed. programme/course at RIE Bhubaneswar, only the candidates from the states/UT of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Sikkim, Tripura, West Bengal, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands are eligible.
      • For B.Ed. Course at RIE Bhubaneswar, only the candidates from the states/UT of Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands are eligible.
  • RIE, Bhopal: B.Ed. and M.Ed.
      • For B.Ed., and M.Ed programme at RIE, Bhopal, only the candidates from the states/UTs of Madhya Pradesh,Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Daman & Diu, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli are eligible.
      • For B.Ed.-M.Ed. programme, the candidates from all states and UTs of the country are eligible
  • RIE, Mysuru: B.Sc.B.Ed. (PCM and CBZ Group), B.A.B.Ed., M.Sc.Ed. (Physics,Chemistry and Mathematics) B.Ed. and M.Ed.
      • For B.Sc. B.Ed., B.A. B.Ed., B.Ed., and M.Ed. programme at RIE, Mysuru, only the candidates from the states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and the UTs of Puducherry and Lakshadweep are eligible.
      • For M.Sc.Ed. (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) candidates from all States and UTs are eligible to apply.
  • NERIE, Shillong B.Ed. (Two Year)
      • For B.Ed. at NERIE, Shillong, only the candidates from the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura are eligible.
  • SIASTE, Jhajjar (Prarambh, School for Teacher Education, Jhajjar) Haryana- B.Sc.B.Ed.(Physical and Biological Group), B.A.B.Ed.
    • For B.Sc.B.Ed. and B.A.B.Ed.- candidates from all States and UTs can apply.

 

Application Process

  • Applicant, you are welcome to the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) Common Entrance Exam (CEE) – 2024 online application form submission portal at https://cee.ncert.gov.in/
  • It is advised to check Eligibility Criteria for RIE CEE courses before applying. Candidates can use their valid Email Id and Mobile number to register themselves.
  • To complete the process, the Application Fee can be submitted online. In addition, as per the Eligibility and interest Candidates can choose to apply for more than one course.
  • Candidates must check all the details mentioned in the form carefully.

  • For General/OBC Category Students : Rs.1200/-
  • For SC/ST Category Students : Rs.600/-
  • For Person with Disability (PwD) of any category Students : Rs.600/-
  • For Economically Weaker Section Candidates : Rs.600/-

CEE 2024 Exam Pattern

  • Separate questions will be for different groups:
      • Group-A : B.Sc.B.Ed./B.A.B.Ed./M.Sc.Ed.
      • Group-B : B.Ed./B.Ed.-M.Ed.
      • Group-C : M.Ed.
  • Level of question paper will be as given below:
    • Group-A – The level of questions will be such as expected of the candidate completing higher secondary/senior secondary education.
    • Group-B – The level of questions will be such as expected of the candidate completing graduation.
    • Group-C – The level of questions will be such as expected of the candidate completing graduation and professional education level.
  • Out of 80 questions, Language Proficiency in English 20 questions, Teaching Aptitude 30 questions and Reasoning Ability 30 questions.
  • Medium of Test Booklets will be only in English and Hindi.
  • No. of test items-80, Time Duration-120 minutes.
  • Correct answer(s) will carry 2 marks each, Wrong answer(s) will carry negative marking of (minus) -0.5 marks each and Question(s) unattended will carry no marks.

 

Syllabus for CEE 2024

  • 1. Language Proficiency indicating specific areas like comprehension, rearranging sentences, selecting suitable words for the blanks, finding out errors in parts of the sentences, finding out equivalent meaning to the given phrases, finding out suitable words for the incomplete sentences, sequencing, grammar which includes synonyms, antonyms, idioms, prepositions, tenses, articles.
  • 2. Teaching Aptitude will cover specific areas like attitude towards education, children, and teaching profession; interest in teaching; leadership qualities & group management; emotional & social adjustment; intrapersonal & interpersonal skills; digital initiatives and pedagogy, NEP 2020, and school education, NCF-SE-2023 and general awareness of contemporary issues pertaining to school education.
  • 3. Reasoning Ability indicating specific areas like verbal & non-verbal reasoning, missing numbers, number series, letter series, theme finding, jumbling, analogy, odd one out, arranging the statements in a sequential form, statement and conclusions, syllogism, logical problems, establishing relationships.
