CMC Vellore Admission 2021 Important Dates

  • Online Application Start Date: 27th April 2021

GROUP A Courses (Candidate may apply for a maximum of 7 courses in Group A)
Course Educational Eligibility

  • MBBS: All candidates should have “obtained a minimum of marks at 50th percentile” in the Undergraduate NEET 2021 examination (40th percentile for candidates applying for seats in the SC/ST quota). As per TN Government and University guidelines, a candidate for admission to the medical course “must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks.
  • BSc Nursing Christian Medical College, Vellore: Candidates should have passed the qualifying examination after a period of 12 years in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry Biology (Botany & Zoology) and English. She must have obtained a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) and English individually at the qualifying examination from any recognized board. There is 5 % relaxation for candidates applying for seats in the SC/ST quota. Only unmarried women candidates are eligible to apply.
  • BOT: Candidates should have a pass in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology pass mark as35% each in Physics, Chemistry & Biology /Botany & Zoology.
  • BPT: Candidates should have a minimum pass mark as 35% each in Physics, Chemistry & Biology/Botany & Zoology.
  • BSc MLT: Candidates should have a pass in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology with minimum 35% marks in each subject separately
  • B. Optom: Candidates should have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology or Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics with a minimum of 35% marks in each subject separately including English.
  • BSc Medical Records Science: Candidates should have a pass in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology with minimum 35% marks in each subject separately.
  • Bachelor of Audiology & Speech Language Pathology: Candidates should have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology / Mathematics /Computer Science / Statistics / Electronics /Psychology securing a minimum of 50% marks.
  • BSc Critical Care Technology: Candidates should have a pass in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology with minimum 35% marks in each subject separately.
  • BSc Dialysis Technology: Candidates should have a pass in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology with minimum 35% marks in each subject separately.
  • BSc Dialysis Technology: Candidates should have a pass in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology with minimum 35% marks in each subject separately.
  • BSc Nuclear Medicine Technology: Candidates should have a pass in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology with minimum 35% marks in each subject separately.
  • Bachelor of Prosthetics & Orthotics: Candidates should pass Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Mathematics, and English with minimum aggregate 50% marks in PCBE/PCME.
  • BSc Radiography & Imaging Technology: Candidates should have a pass in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology with minimum 35% marks in each subject separately.
  • BSc Radiotherapy Technology: Candidates should have a pass in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology with minimum 35% marks in each subject separately.
  • BSc Medical Sociology: Candidates should have a pass in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology with minimum 35% marks in each subject separately.
  • BSc Cardio Pulmonary Perfusion Care Technology: Candidates should have a pass in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology with minimum 35% marks in each subject separately.
  • BSc Operation Theatre & Anaesthesia Technology: Candidates should have a pass in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology with minimum 35% marks in each subject separately.
  • BSc Neuro-electrophysiology: Candidates should have a pass in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology with minimum 35% marks in each subject separately.
  • BSc Accident and Emergency Care Technology: Candidates should have a pass in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology with minimum 35% marks in each subject separately.
  • BSc Cardiac Technology: Candidates should have a pass in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology with minimum 35% marks in each subject separately.
  • BSc Respiratory Therapy: Candidates should have a pass in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Botany & Zoology with minimum 35% marks in each subject separately.

GROUP B Courses (Candidate may apply for a maximum of 5 courses with a maximum of 2 entrance exam papers in Group B)

  • Diploma in Nursing: Candidates should have a pass in Plus two (10+2) or its equivalent examination, preferably Science with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany & Zoology) with a minimum of 40% aggregate and English individually at the qualifying examination from any recognized board. Minimum age for admission will be 17 years (as on 31st December 2021). The upper age limit@ is 35 years. Unmarried@ men or women only. (@Marital status and age relaxable for ANM/MPHW).
  • Diploma in Radiodiagnosis Technology (MRT): (10+2 level) English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany/Zoology.
  • Diploma in Urology Technology: (10+2 level) English, Physics, Biology, Chemistry or Botany/Zoology with minimum aggregate of 50%
  • Diploma in Anaesthesia Tech (Chittoor Campus): (10+2 level) English, Physics, Chemistry & Biology.
  • Diploma in Anaesthesia Tech: (10+2 level) English, Physics, Chemistry & Biology
  • Dip. in Hand & Leprosy Physiotherapy Tech: (10+2 level) English, Physics, Chemistry & Biology
  • Diploma in Optometry: 50% aggregate in (10+2) or its equivalent in English, Physics, Chemistry & Biology
  • Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (Chittoor Campus): (10+2 level) English, Physics, Chemistry & Biology
  • Diploma in Hospital Sterilisation Technology: (10+2 level) English, Physics, Chemistry & Biology
  • Diploma in Optometry (Chittoor Campus): 50% aggregate in (10+2) or its equivalent in English, Physics, Chemistry & Biology
  • Diploma in Hospital Sterilisation Technology (Chittoor Campus): (10+2 level) English, Physics, Chemistry & Biology
  • PG Diploma in Histopathological Lab. Technology: Pass with minimum 50% marks in BSc MLT, BSc with Biology or Botany/Zoology or Biochemistry or Microbiology as main subjects. Or BSc Physics or Chemistry as main with Botany or Zoology as ancillary.
  • PG Diploma in Medical Microbiology: BSc with English as the medium of instruction and Biology (Botany/Zoology) as main subject, BSc MLT, BSc Microbiology as main or ancillary subject from a recognised University. Students who have a postgraduate degree need not apply.
  • PG Diploma in Cardiac Technology: BSc with English and any Science subject as the main subject PG Diploma in Cytogenetics BSc with 1st class in Physics / Chemistry / Botany / Zoology / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Biotechnology or MLT.
  • PG Diploma in Genetic Diagnosis Technology: BSc with 1st class in Botany/Zoology /Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Microbiology
  • PG Diploma in Assisted Reproductive Technology: BSc with Zoology / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Medical Laboratory Technology.
  • PG Diploma in Community Health Management: Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline or direct Master’s in any discipline through a recognized University
  • PG Diploma in Hospital Administration: Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognised University
  • PG Diploma in Health Economics, Policy & Financial Mgt.: Bachelor’s degree or a direct Master’s in any discipline from any recognized university.
  • Master of Hospital Administration (MHA): MBBS / BDS / BAMS / BHMS / BNYS / BUMS /BSMS OR B.E. Biomedical Engineering /B.Tech Biotechnology OR B.Sc (N) / B.Pharmacy / BPT OR BBA and BHA in Hospital Administration OR B.Sc. Allied Health Sciences (any) OR B.Sc. (Biochemistry / Microbiology / Biotechnology / Chemistry / Physics / Botany / Zoology)
  • PG Diploma in Clinical Pastoral Counselling: BTh or BD Degree of the Senate of Serampore College or its recognised equivalent OR any degree (eg. BA or BSc or B.Com or BBA) with three years of involvement in some form of lay ministry of the Church. No age limit.
  • Dip. in Dermatology Laboratory Tech.: Pass in HSC/equivalent with Science subjects and Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) recognised by CMAI
  • Diploma in Hospital Equipment Maintenance (HEM): Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics)
  • PG Diploma in Dietetics: BSc Home Science or BSc Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Fellowship in Antimicrobial Stewardship for Clinical Pharmacists: Pharm D (Doctor of Pharmacy)
  • MSc Epidemiology: MBBS/BDS/MPharm / MSc. in Nursing/ Biostatistics/ Statistics /Nutrition/ Biochemistry/ Anatomy /Physiology/ Pharmacology / Microbiology and other medical related MSc / BVSc/BAMS / BUMS/ BHMS /BSMS / MPT / MOT/MPH.
  • MSc Biostatistics: Eligibility will be as per the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. University criteria.
  • MSc Medical Physics: BSc (Physics) with Mathematics as one of the ancillary subject in Regular Study
  • MPH (Master of Public Health): MBBS, BDS, BVSc, BSc Nursing, BPT, BOT, graduates of Ayush courses, Pharmacy & Engineering, Postgraduates in Statistics /Biostatistics, Demography, Population Studies, Nutrition, Sociology, Economics, Psychology, Anthropology, Social Work, Management or Law.
  • MSc Clinical Nutrition: B.Sc., Nutrition Dietetics, Food Service Management OR B.Sc in food and Nutrition OR B.Sc in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics OR B.Sc. in Home Science with majors in nutrition and dietetics OR B.Sc in Human Science with majors in nutrition and dietetics OR B.Sc in Clinical Nutrition with majors in nutrition and dietetics.
  • MSc Nuclear Medicine Technology: BSc in Nuclear Medicine Technology OR BSc Radiology & Imaging Technology OR BSc Medical Physics OR BSc Radiotherapy Technology OR Any BSc Life Science with DMRT.

CMC Vellore Admission 2021 Application Process

  • Applications can be accessed only online at http://admissions.cmcvellore.ac.in from 15th June 2021.
  • The last date for online application submission, with payment of application fee, is 17th April 2021. The last date for receipt of any supporting documents is 15th June 2021.
  • Where relevant, photocopy of SC/ST certificate and its attested English translation must be sent. Scanned copies of documents may be sent as email attachments to registrar@cmcvellore.ac.in and subsequently, after the Lock down period is over, the hard copies may be sent by speed post /courier.

Application Fee

  • The application fee includes a basic administrative fee of Rs.800/- plus a registration fee per course applied.
  • The registration fee per course is given below:
  • Group A Courses: MBBS, BSc (Nursing) & AHS Degree Courses – Rs. 500/- per course
  • Group B Courses: Diploma in Nursing and other AHS diplomas / Fellowships – Rs.100/- per course
  • MPH and MSc Courses: Rs. 500/- per course
  • Mode of Payment: Online payment using Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking

Selection Process

  • All candidates whose applications are in order and complete will be registered. They will go through a competitive process consisting of a preliminary Computer Based Entrance Test (Step-1).
  • Short-listed candidates will be invited for Step-2 which consists of special tests to assess the candidate’s character and aptitude.
  • Interviews also will form part of the assessment at this stage. All admissions are based on interse merit.
  • The College recognises that merit is not merely academic merit but is, in addition, a collection of various other factors, which go towards suitability to pursue a professional career.
  • The selection process / admission will be subject to any orders passed or that may be passed by the Government / University / Professional Councils.

Computer Based Test

  • Mode of Exam: Online mode
  • Language: English
  • Type of Exam: There will be a Computer Based Test for all the Group A & B Courses except MBBS
  • Group A: Degree courses other than MBBS will consist of tests on Physics, Chemistry & Biology followed by Aptitude Assessment.
  • Group B: Group B diploma courses with Science paper will have multiple choice questions in Physics, Chemistry & Biology, in addition to General Ability with emphasis on Speed and Accuracy, and a few questions on issues of current topical interest.

Special Tests & Interviews

  • Special tests and Interviews for selection to the various courses will be held at Vellore as per the schedule.

Hall Tickets

  • Hall Tickets will be available for download on the CMC website 1 week before the examination. Hall tickets will be common for Group A & B courses except MBBS.
  • If a candidate is unable to download the Hall Ticket from the website, they are advised to inform the registrar immediately, giving the candidate’s name, application number, date of birth, full address, and centre opted for the Computer based Test, by sending an email to registrar@cmcvellore.ac.in or by telephone (0416 -228 4255 / 228 4495).
  • Hall ticket number and address of the centre will be intimated if the candidate’s application is complete in all aspects.
