ASEAN India Research Training Fellowship 2021 for ASEAN Researchers Dates, Application Procedure

Objective

• The ASEAN India Research Training Fellowships scheme is a fellowship scheme with the following objectives:

a)

Capacity building for young researchers

b)

Promote mobility of scientists and researchers

c)

Facilitate exchange of information, contacts and create a network for building research collaborations

d)

A spin-off opportunity to get co-supervisors from India for their research projects for Ph.D. or Master’s degree on their return to their home countries

Course Level

Fellowships are available to pursue research training program

Number of Fellowships

i.

Fifty (50) fellowships per year shall be awarded to young scientists and researchers from ASEAN-Member Countries to get affiliated with Indian academic and R&D institutions

ii.

Initially, 5 Fellowship shall be allocated for each ASEAN country.

 Duration of Fellowship

i.

The duration of the Fellowship will be for a period of two to six months.

ii.

A minor variation in the duration would be allowed on recommendations of the Indian host Institute/ University

 Area of Fellowships

Fellowship will be offered for working in research topics under any of the following broad disciplines:

a)

Agricultural Sciences

b)

Biological and Medical Sciences

c)

Chemical Sciences & Engineering

d)

Computer Science & Engineering

e)

Physical Sciences and Mathematics

f)

Ocean, Earth & Atmospheric Sciences

g)

Engineering Sciences

h)

Materials, Minerals and Metallurgy

i)

Science Policy / IPR Management / Technology Transfer & Commercialization

j)

Other multi-disciplinary areas of Science

Eligibility Criteria

i.

Applicant must hold nationality of any of the ASEAN Member State

ii.

Masters Degree in any Natural Sciences or an equivalent degree in Technology / Engineering / Medicine / allied disciplines

iii.

Upper age limit 45 years as on date of submission of application

iv.

Applicant should be working in a national R&D or academic institution in his/ her home ASEAN Member country

v.

Fluency in English language

vi.

Indian nationals are not eligible for the Fellowship.

vii.

Applicants who have availed any fellowship scheme of Govt of India during the last 5 years are not ELIGIBLE to apply.

Please Note

i.

Applicants who have already availed AIRTF in any one of the previous years are NOT eligible to apply.

ii.

Applicants who had applied in any of the previous years but were unsuccessful or could not avail it may re-apply for the current year.

Application Procedure

i.

The applications are to be submitted only ONLINE at www.aistic.gov.in

ii.

The Hard copies of the application are neither required. For online submission of the application the following points may be noted:

(a)

Applicants should first register in ASEAN online portal click here to register

(b)

After log-in, applicants are required to fill all the mandatory fields in the Profile Detail section under User Profile, which includes Bio data, photo, Institute Address, etc.

(c)

Some of the details of the proposal like Project Title, Project summary, Keywords, Objectives of project, Expected output and outcome of the proposal etc have to be entered at the time of proposal submission.

(d)

Other relevant information of the proposal has to be uploaded as a single PDF file, not more than 10 MB
