SSC CHSL Salary Structure
SSC CHSL recruits for four posts i.e. PA/SA, LDC, DEO, and Court Clerk. The basic salary pay band for all the four posts is same i.e. 5200-20200 before any extras are added to it. There are various factors which are added to this basic salary and the gross salary is calculated.
SSC CHSL in hand salary:
Lower Division Clerk – 18, 777 – 22, 711 rupees
Data Entry Operator – 25, 165 – 31, 045 rupees
Postal Assistants/Sorting Assistant – 25, 165 – 31, 045 rupees
Court Clerk – 18, 777 – 22, 711 rupees
But the moment it comes to grade pay, it defines the difference between a good post and a better post.
Grade pay is basically the amount which is pre-set according to the category of the people to adjust the house rental allowances and cost of living on a monthly basis. So, Grade Pay plays an important role in calculating the gross salary and In-hand salary.

SSC CHSL Promotion Avenues:
You will be promoted in a certain period of time in each of the posts. Let us see what the promotional structure is for each of the posts
Lower Division Clerk (LDC):
Among all the posts, LDC is the lowest one but it comes with ample of promotion opportunities. It steps toward the UDC (upper division clerk), Division Clerk and Assistant Section Officer one by one.
This will require at least 5 years of experience at each level of the cadre. It means after having the 5 years of experience at LDC, you will be promoted to the UDC post and after 5 years of experience at UDC, you will become division clerk and after that, you will become assistant section officer.
Data Entry Operator (DEO):
Here promotion depends on your experience as well as on skills or on factors like departmental and category promotions. DEO salary is quite well and career is very luminous. DEO will get the promotion on various post scales like:
1. Console Operator
2. Senior Console Operator
3. Data Processor
4. Senior Data Processor
5. Data Managers
Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant:
It is one of the most standard positions among all SSC CHSL posts. There are various departments available in which PA/SA can be posted few of them are- Army postal service, Foreign Post office, Circle and Regional Offices, Post Offices, Railway Mail Services, and Postal Stores depot etc. PA/SA salary is already impressive and the promotional ladder structure adds more charm to it. The promotions to various posts are as mentioned below:
1. Lower Selection Grade (LSG) / Supervisor
2. Higher Selection Grade (HSG) I / Senior Supervisor
3. Higher Selection Grade (HSG) II / Chief Supervisor
Court Clerk:
People who get promoted in this category get there place in High Courts or Central Administrative Tribunal, National Green Tribunal, Supreme Court or Debt Recovery Tribunal. They get promoted to the following posts:-
1. Assistant Clerk
2. Bench Clerk
3. Head Clerk
Promotion depends on their skills, experience and they could be promoted to a personal assistant or senior personal assistant and senior court clerk.
