Central University of South Bihar PhD Admission 2023 – Central University of South Bihar, Gaya, Bihar invites online applications from NET/JRF/GATE/GPAT qualified candidates for admission to PhD programs offered in various disciplines for the academic session 2023-24. The Central University of Bihar (CUB) is one amongst the 16 new Central Universities, established by the Government of India under the Central Universities Act, 2009 . Subsequently, the name of the university was changed by the Central Universities (Amendment) Act, 2014 to Central University of South Bihar (CUSB). Eligibility Criteria
- Master’s degree in the concerned/relevant/allied subject with 55% marks or equivalent in Master’s degree in Education from a recognized University/Institution.
- A Relaxation of 5% of marks from 55 to 50% or equivalent relaxation of Grade for SC/ST/OBC(Non creamy layer)/Differently abled candidates.
- Details of Qualifying Examinations and the Requisite Minimum Percentage of Marks for Admission to the Ph.D. Programme in Various Schools.
Application Process
- Candidates have to apply online on the link available at university website www.cusb.ac.in
- Candidates are required to upload recent passport size photographs, scanned signatures and scanned copies of the supporting documents.
- Read instructions given there carefully before filling the application form.
Application Fee (Expected)
- General/EWS – Rs. 800/-
- OBC/SC/ST/PwD – Rs. 500/-
Selection Process
- Interview shall be conducted only of those candidates who have submitted the online application form and fulfilling the eligibility criteria.
- Interviews will be held in physical mode (offline) only, however, any candidate residing outside of the country may be allowed to appear in online mode in exceptional cases on his/her request and after approval of the Competent Authority.
- The Interview of 100 marks shall be conducted of those candidates who have applied for Walk-in-Interview for admission in PhD programme. The minimum qualifying marks in the interview shall be 60% (for UR & EWS) and 55% (for OBC/SC/ST/PH). However, meeting the said minimum requirement will not guarantee admission for Ph.D. as it is dependent upon the position in the merit list and availability of vacant seats.
- The interview/interaction/viva-voce shall be of 100 marks consisting of the following aspects, viz. whether:
- 6-8 pages of research plan submitted satisfactorily defended by the candidate: 30% (15%+15%)
- The candidate possesses the competence for the proposed research and can contribute to new / additional knowledge/ depth of subject knowledge: 40% (20%+20%)
- Overall assessment of the candidate based on his/ her attitude, hardworking nature, dedication, responses, presence of mind etc.: 30%
