Eligibility Criteria

MANGATTUPARAMBA CAMPUS

  • School of Information Science & Technology (M.Sc. Computer Science) : A pass in BCA/ Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/ Mathematics/ Physics/ Statistics/ Chemistry/ Engineering or equivalent degree.
  • MCA : BCA/ Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or Equivalent Degree with not less than 50% marks (45% for candidates belonging to reservation category) or equivalent grade or
  • B.Sc./B.Com./B.A with Mathematics at 10+2 level or at Graduation level (such candidates shall undergo additional Bridge Courses as per the norms of Kannur University) with not less than 50% marks (45% for candidates belonging to reservation category) or equivalent grade. 
  • School of Behavioral Sciences (M.Sc. Clinical & Counseling Psychology) : Degree in Psychology (3 Years) from any Universities in India or abroad with a minimum of 50% marks. 
  • Department of Mathematical Sciences (M.Sc. Mathematics) : B.Sc. Mathematics with minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade in core course 
  • Department of Statistical Sciences (M.Sc. Statistics ) : B.Sc. Statistics with minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade in core course. Or BSc Mathematics with Statistics as a complementary course with 50% marks or equivalent grade in a complementary (statistics) course.
  • M.Sc. Biostatistics : B.Tech/B.E degree or B.A/B.Sc. Mathematics degree or B.A/B.Sc. degree with Statistics/Biostatistics as core course or B.Sc. Computer Science degree with Statistics/Mathematics as complementary course or B.Sc. degree with Mathematics and Statistics as core course with aggregate minimum of 50% of marks or equivalent grade.
  • School of Wood Technology (M.Sc. Wood Science & Technology (Industry Linked)) : Any Science Degree with minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade in core course. 
  • Department of Mass communication and Journalism (M.A. Journalism and Media Studies) : Any degree with minimum of 45% marks or equivalent grade in core course.
  • Weightage: 1. Holders of PG diploma in Journalism – 5marks 2. Three year degree holders with Journalism main -7 marks 3. Graduates with Journalism Complementary – 5marks 4. Bachelor’s Degree holders in Multimedia Communication/Visual Communication/Film production/Video Production -5 marks.
  • Weightage will be added to the total marks of Entrance test to prepare Rank List. Candidate will be given weightage in only one of the categories, whichever is higher, only on production of original certificates 
  • Department of History (M.A. History) : Any degree with minimum of 45% marks or equivalent grade in core course. 
  • Department of Environmental Studies (M.Sc. Environmental Science) : B.Sc. Degree in any of the subjects {Botany/ Zoology/ Chemistry/ Physics/ Environmental Science/Environmental Management/Environment and Water Management/Microbiology/Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Forestry/ any branch of Life Science/ Geology/ Geography) with 50% marks or equivalent grade in core course. or an Engineering Degree in Civil/ Mechanical/ Chemical/ Environmental branch with an aggregate of 55% marks in the optional.
  • School of Physical Education and Sports Sciences (Master of Physical Education and Sports (MPES)) : Bachelor Degree in Physical Education (BPEd.) or Bachelor of Physical Education and Sports (BPES) or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Health and Physical Education with 50% marks or equivalent Grade.
  • Centre for Management Studies (Cost Sharing) [M.B.A] : Any Degree with minimum 50% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate.

  • Department of Anthropology (M.A. Anthropology) : Any Degree with minimum 45% marks or equivalent grade in core course. 
  • Weightage of 2% and 5% shall be given to those who have studied Anthropology at +2 and the UG levels respectively. 
  • Department of Studies in English (M.A. English) : BA English/Functional English with minimum 45% marks or equivalent grade in core course.
  • BA/BSc with English as Common with minimum 45% marks or equivalent grade in common course.
  • Weightage of 10% of marks or GPA shall be given to the candidates who have studied B A with English as main subject. A weightage of 5% shall be given to candidates who have studied Functional English.
  • Candidate those who have passed LRP programmes like B.B.M., B.B.A., B.Com. and BSc LRP Programmes are not  ligible for M A English programme 
  • Department of Biotechnology & Microbiology (M.Sc. Biotechnology) : BSc Biotechnology/ Microbiology/ Biochemistry/ Chemistry/ Zoology/ Botany/Plant Science/ Life Science or any other subject with Microbiology/ Biotechnology as one of the subjects with minimum 50% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate(excluding languages).
  • M .Sc. Micro Biology : Bachelor’s degree in any of the subjects such as Biotechnology/ Microbiology/ Biochemistry/ Chemistry/ Zoology/ Botany/ Plant Science/ Life Science/ /B. Voc (Applied Microbiology & Forensic Science (awarded by the University of Calicut)) or any other subject with Microbiology/ Biotechnology as one of the subjects at degree level with minimum 50% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate (excluding languages).
  • M.Sc. Computational Biology : Bachelor’s degree with minimum 50% marks or equivalent grade in any branch of Science/Technology/Medicine(with degrees such as B.Sc., B.E., B.Tech, B.Pharm, MBBS, BDS, BVSc and BAMS) with minimum 50% marks in aggregate(excluding languages). 
  • The eligible subject areas include: Life Sciences (Botany, Zoology, Genetics, Human Biology, General Life Sciences, Ecology, Environmental Biology), Bioinformatics, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science/ Information Technology, Statistics, any branch of Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Agriculture, Medicine, Dentistry, Horticulture, Forestry and Veterinary Sciences.  
  • Department of Economics (M.A. Economics) : Any Degree with minimum 50% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate. 
  • Department of Molecular Biology (M.Sc. Molecular Biology) : BSc Degree with minimum 50% marks or equivalent grade in core course, in any branch of Life Sciences (Zoology, Botany, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Genetics, Laboratory Technology or equivalent), Medical, Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences . 
  • Department of Management Studies (M.B.A) : Any Degree with minimum 50% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate. 
  • Department of Law (LL.M) : LLB (including 3 Year LLB, 5 Year LLB, 5 Year BA LLB, B Com. LLB, B Sc. LLB, BBA LLB or any of the integrated 5 Year LLB course designed by the Bar Council of India) with minimum 50% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate. 
  • IT Education Centre (Cost Sharing) [M.C.A] : BCA/ Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or Equivalent Degree with not less than 50% marks(45% for candidates belonging to reservation category) or equivalent grade  or
  • B.Sc./B.Com./B.A with Mathematics at 10+2 level or at Graduation level (such candidates shall undergo additional Bridge Courses as per the norms of Kannur University) with not less than 50% marks (45% for candidates belonging to reservation category) or equivalent grade.

  • Department of Library & Information Science [Master of Library and Information Science (M.Lib.I.Sc.)] : Any Degree with minimum 50% marks or equivalent grade in core course. 

SWAMI ANANDA THEERTHA CAMPUS, PAYYANNUR

  • Department of Physics [M.Sc. Physics (Advanced materials)] : B.Sc. Physics with Mathematics as a complementary course with minimum 50% marks or equivalent grade in core course. Blind/Deaf candidates are not eligible for admission to the programme.
  • Department of Geography (M.Sc. Geography) : B.Sc./B.A.Degree in Geography with a minimum 50% marks or equivalent grade in Part III (Main/ Core and Subsidiaries/ Complimentary together). Double main or triple main with Geography as one of the main subjects, will be considered only in the absence of qualified candidates with single main.
  • Blind/Deaf candidates are not eligible for admission to the programme. 
  • Department of Chemistry [M.Sc. Chemistry (Material Science) ] : B.Sc. Chemistry with any complementary courses with minimum 50% marks or equivalent grade in core course.
  • Blind/Deaf candidates are not eligible for admission to the programme.
  • Department of Chemistry (M.Sc. Nanoscience and Nanotechnology) : B.Sc. Physics/ Chemistry with minimum 55% marks in aggregate (excluding languages).

  • Department of Music [M.A. Music (Carnatic Music)] : B.A. Music with a minimum 45% marks or equivalent grade OR
  • Any degree other than Music with a minimum of 45% marks or equivalent grade and having aptitude and training in Carnatic Music

  • Department of Malayalam (M.A. Malayalam) : BA Malayalam with minimum 45% marks or equivalent grade in core course. BA/ B.Sc with Malayalam as Common Course with not less than 50% Marks or equivalent GPA in Common Course.
  • Weightage of 10% marks shall be given to the candidates who have studied Malayalam as Core Course. Candidates who have passed LRP Programme like BBM, BBA, B.Com and B.Sc LRP Programmes are not eligible for M A Malayalam Programme. 
  • Department of Hindi (M. A. Hindi) : BA Hindi/ Functional Hindi with minimum 45% marks or equivalent grade in core course. BA/ B.Sc. with Hindi as a Common Course with not less than 50% Marks or equivalent GPA in Common Course.
  • Weightage of 10% of marks or GPA shall be given to the candidates who have studied Hindi as Core Course. Weightage of 5% of marks or GPA shall be given to the candidates who have studied Functional Hindi as Core Course. Candidates those who have passed LRP Programme like BBM, BBA, B.Com and B.Sc. LRP Programmes are not eligible for MA Hindi Programme.
  • MBA Centre (Cost Sharing) [M.B.A] : Any Degree with minimum 50% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate.

  • Department of Zoology (M.Sc. Applied Zoology) : B. Sc. Zoology with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade in core course.
  • Department of Botany (M.Sc. Plant Science with specialization in Ethnobotany) : Indian Nationals with B.Sc. Botany/Plant Science with minimum 50% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate (excluding languages).
  • Department of Rural & Tribal Sociology (M.A. Tribal & Rural Studies) : Any Degree with minimum 45% marks or equivalent grade in core course. 

MANJESWARAM CAMPUS 

  • An Extension Centre of Department of Law (Cost Sharing)
  • LL.M. : LLB (including 3 Year LLB, 5 Year LLB, 5 Year BA LLB, B Com. LLB, B Sc. LLB, BBA LLB or any of the integrated 5 Year LLB courses designed by the Bar Council of India) with minimum 50% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate.
  • LLB (3 Year) : Any Degree with minimum 45% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate. 

Age limit :

  • No upper age limit for admission to these programmes.
