Eligibility Criteria

 

B.Tech Marine Engineering / B.Sc. Nautical Science

  • The candidate must have successfully completed the Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or its equivalent with:
  • At least 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) and
  • At least 50% marks in English either in Class X or Class XII.
  • Age : Candidates less than 25 years of age as on 1st of August in the year of admission will be eligible to apply. The date of birth as recorded on the applicants School Leaving Certificate will be considered for this purpose.
  • * The Upper age limit for admission relaxed for SC/ST candidates by 5 Years.

Direct Second Year to B.Tech Marine Engineering (Lateral Entry)

  • The candidates can laterally join the 2nd year of the 4 year Marine Engineering degree course who have passed 3 years Diploma course in the following streams, in addition to the 3 year regular Diploma course in Mechanical/Electrical/Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the colleges as approved by the AICTE or the State Board of Technical Education with minimum 55% aggregate marks in the last year of the Diploma course.
  • The candidate should have obtained minimum 50% of marks in the English language in 10th OR 12th standard OR in the Degree/Diploma course conducted by recognized board OR any University.

  • Fill the application form on website www.manetpune.edu.in
  • After submission of online application form automated mail would be sent on registered email ID with username and password.
  • It is essential for the candidate to remember username and Password for further transactions (e.g. Printing of application form, Admit card etc.)

 

Admission Procedure

  • MANET Pune admission procedure includes all the details related to the eligibility and medical requirements of prospective cadets.
  • For application to MANET, the candidate must have successfully completed the Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or its equivalent
  • Shortlisting Candidates : Applicants will be shortlisted on the basis of their PCM marks and Medical fitness as per the DGS norms and they are called to MANET,Pune to confirm their admission in the month of Jun-July 2024 (tentatively).
  • Personal Interview : Applicants are interviewed situation by a panel of educators and maritime professionals to assess the applicant’s communication skills, leadership potential, clarity of thought, maturity and reasoning abilities. The panel also looks for any extracurricular achievements of the candidate.
  • Medical Examination : Medical practitioners appointed by the DG Shipping will examine all selected candidates for certifying conformation with the medical requirements laid down by the Institute.

Mandatory

  • Application for First Year to B.Tech Marine Engineering (4 Yrs) / B.Sc Nautical Science(3 Yrs)
      • Having a passport at the time of admission is mandatory.
      • Qualifying IMU-CET 2024-25 is mandatory.
      • For the Academic Year 2024-25, 5% relaxation in PCM Marks at the 12th std. Board level for SC/ST candidates for admission into Pre-Sea Courses(B.Tech / B.Sc)
  • Application for Direct 2nd Year to B.Tech Marine Engineering (4 Yrs).
    • Having a passport at the time of admission is mandatory.
