Electronics & Communication Engineering

  • B.E. / B. Tech. /AMIE/AMIETE/B.Sc.(Engineering.) of four years duration in one of the following branches: Electronics and allied branches, Computer Science and allied branches, Electrical and allied branches, Instrumentation and allied branches, Biomedical, IoT, Mechatronics, Robotics. B.E. /B.Tech. in any Engineering discipline, with experience of at least one year related to Electronics and Communication Engineering.
  • M.Tech./M.E./M.S.(at least two year program) in above branches. 
  • Minimum first class or 6.75 CPI / CGPA on a 10 point scale at Bachelor’s or Master’s level.
  • Qualified GATE in the past (Non-GATE candidates eligible for Cat .7 and 9)

Category 6

  • B.E. / B. Tech. /AMIE/AMIETE/B.Sc.(Engg.) of four years duration in one of the following branches: Electronics and allied branches, Computer Science and allied branches, Electrical and allied branches, Instrumentation and allied branches, Biomedical, IoT, Mechatronics, Robotics. B.E. /B.Tech. in any Engineering discipline, with experience of at least one year related to Electronics and Communication Engineering.
  • Minimum first class or 6.75 CPI / CGPA on a 10 point scale.
  • Qualified GATE in the past to avail financial assistance/scholarship/assistantship. Note: For Non-GATE, whenever a student qualifies GATE he/she will be eligible for assistance/ scholarship/ assistantship as per the institute rules.

VLSI & Nanotechnology

  • B.E/B.Tech in Electronics Engg.or equivalent.
  • M.E. / M. Chemistry

  • I)M.Sc./M.Tech. or equivalent degree in Chemistry and chemistry related disciplines, Biochemistry, Environmental Science, Biotechnology, Medical Biotechnology, Microbiology, Pharmacy, Forensic Science, Nanoscience, polymer science, Electronics, Biophotonics, material science etc.
  • Minimum first class or 6.75 CPI / CGPA on a 10 point scale at Bachelor’s or Master’s level.
  • Qualified GATE/NET/GPAT score in the past. (Non GATE Eligible for Cat .7 & 9)

Mathematics

  • M.Sc. in Mathematics / Applied Mathematics.

Humanities and Social Sciences

  • M.A. in English / Sociology /Economics./Sanskrit.
  • Minimum first class or 6.75 CPI / CGPA on a 10 point scale at Bachelor’s or Master’s level.
  • Qualified GATE / NET score in the past. (Non GATE Eligible for Cat .7 & 9)

Interdisciplinary Board

  • Biomedical: BE/B.Tech in any branch of engineering or equivalent, B.Arch, M.Sc in any discipline, ME/M.Tech in any branch of Engg, M.Arch/M.B.A./equivalent OR MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS/BVSC &AH.
  • For others, parent department eligibility criteria will be applicable.

Note:

  • The candidate having secured Government Fellowship i.e, DST fellowship, CSIR fellowship, UGC fellowship can apply for Ph.D. program under Cat 4 at VNIT even if the candidate does not have valid GATE scores/NET qualification or candidate has not appeared for GATE/NET.
  • Candidates, whose M.E. / M.Tech/ M.Arch. / M.Plan. / M.Sc. result is awaited, can also apply for Ph.D. program. They will have to submit the result of M.E. / M.Tech/ M.Arch. / M.Plan./M.Sc. exam to Academic Section, till that time their registration will be provisional.

  • The application form is available on the institute website https://vnit.ac.in/admission .
  • Candidates are required to pay an application fee of Rs 500/- (per application form) online through the online payment portal of VNIT. (Link : https://pay.vnit.ac.in/home). After payment, candidate shall mention this VNIT Payment Ref. No in the application form & also attach the printed copy of receipt.
  • The duly filled application form, along with photocopies of the certificates (self-attested) & photograph, and copy of payment receipt, should be sent by speed post or hand delivery.
