SBI Circle Based Officer Recruitment 2023 – Applications are invited from eligible Indian Citizens for appointment as Circle Based Officer in State Bank of India. The selected candidates shall be posted in the applied Circle only. Eligibility Criteria
Essential Academic Qualifications:
- Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government including Integrated Dual Degree (IDD). Candidates possessing qualifications such as Medical, Engineering, Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant would also be eligible.
- Note: The date of passing eligibility examination will be the date appearing on the mark sheet or provisional certificate issued by the University/ Institute. In case the result of a particular examination is posted on the website of the University/ Institute, a certificate issued by the appropriate authority of the University/ Institute indicating the date on which the result was posted on the website will be taken as the date of passing.
Age Limit: (As on 31.10.2023):
- Not below 21 years and Not above 30 years as on 31.10.2023 i.e. candidates must have been born not later than 31.10.2002 and not earlier than 01.11.1993 (both days inclusive).
- Age Relaxation Extra as per SBI CBO Recruitment Rules.
Experience (Post Essential Academic Qualification) as on 31.10.2023:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience (Post Essential Academic Qualification Experience) as on 31.10.2023 as an officer in any Scheduled Commercial Bank or any Regional Rural Bank as listed in Second Schedule of Reserve Bank of India.
Local Language:
- The candidates applying for vacancies of a particular Circle, should be proficient (reading, writing and understanding) in any one of the specified opted local language of that Circle (mentioned against each Circle). The test of knowledge of specified opted local language of the applied circle will be conducted as a part of the selection process. It will be conducted for provisionally selected candidates (based on performance in online test, Screening and interview) before joining the Bank. Candidates who fail to qualify this test will not be offered an appointment. Candidates who produce 10th or 12th standard mark sheet/ certificate evidence having studied the specified opted local language of the applied circle as one of the subjects will not be required to undergo the language test.
Application Process
- Candidates can apply online only from 22.11.2023 to 12.12.2023. No other mode of application will be accepted.
- Pre-requisites for Applying Online: Candidates should have valid email ID and mobile no. which should be kept active till the declaration of final results. It will be essentially required for receiving any communication/ call letters/ advice from the bank by email/ SMS.
- Candidates will be required to register themselves online through Bank’s website https://bank.sbi/web/careers/current-openings. After registration candidates are required to pay the requisite application fee through online mode by using debit card/ credit card/ Internet Banking.
- Helpdesk: In case of any problem in filling up the form, payment of fee/ intimation charges or receipt of Admission/ call letter, queries may be made at telephone no. 022-22820427 (between 11:00 AM to 05:00 PM on working days) or lodge their query on http://cgrs.ibps.in. Application Fee
- For General / OBC / EWS : Rs. 750/-

- Mode of Payment : Through Online Fee Mode Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking Only.
Selection Process
- The selection process consists of (a) Online Test, (b) Screening and (c) Interview.
- (a) Online Test: Online test will consist of Objective Tests for 120 marks and Descriptive Test for 50 marks. The Descriptive Test will be administered immediately after conclusion of the Objective Test and candidates will have to type their Descriptive Test answers on the computer.
(i) Objective Test:
- The duration of objective test is 2 hours and it consists of 4 Sections of total 120 marks. There will be separate timing for every section.

(ii) Descriptive Test:
- The duration of the Descriptive Test is 30 minutes. It will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay) with two questions for a total of 50 marks.
Penalty for Wrong Answers:
- There will be no penalty for wrong answers marked in Objective Tests.
- (b). Screening: Online application and documents of candidates, who qualified in online examination, will be placed before the Screening Committee.
- The Screening Committee constituted by the Bank will examine whether the candidates fulfil the required eligibility criteria of experience.
- (c). Interview: Interview will consist of 50 marks. Candidates will have to score minimum qualifying marks in the interview to be considered for final selection. The minimum qualifying marks will be decided by the Bank.
