CBSE makes 75% attendance compulsory for the students appearing for Class 10, 12  Board Exam

75% Attendance mandatory to sit in Board Exams – The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recently directed the schools regarding the attendance rules for the  students of Class X and XII. As per the CBSE directive, students studying in its affiliated schools need to have a minimum of 75 percent of attendance in order to be eligible to appear for the upcoming Board Exams 2020.

In its latest notice, the CBSE has stated that the schools will have to calculate the attendance of all the students of Classes X and XII until January 1, 2020. According to the new rules set by the Board, those students who have attendance less than 75% will not be allowed to sit for the examinations.

The CBSE Board Exams this year are slated to start from February 15. Only those students will be able to get their respective admit cards who are eligible according to all mandatory conditions including that of attendance. The schools have been asked to submit the names of those students with short attendance in their respective CBSE regional offices. The decision regarding this matter would be taken before January 7, 2020.

If a student has a valid reason behind his/her attendance shortage, he/she can submit the documents supporting his/her claims before the regional office officials before January 7. The officials will not entertain any case after January 7.
