CBSE to announce Exam Date and Format of Class 12 Board Exam 2021 on June 1
The Central Board of Secondary Education will be announcing the exam date and the format of Class 12 Board Exam 2021 on June 1. The CBSE Board Exam 2021 for class 12 will not be cancelled and is likely to be held in July like last year amidst Covid protocols. The decision was taken in a high-level meeting conducted on Sunday between the centre and the states. The Union Education Minister as well as Education Ministers from all the states were present in the meeting.
The Meeting was chaired by the Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Minister for Women and Child Development, Smriti Irani and Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar have also attended the meeting.
As per the reports, the board has proposed two options to conduct the class 12 board examination. The first option is to hold the exams only for major subjects and the second option is to hold exams in schools but they would be of the objective-type only and of a much shorter duration (90 Minutes).
The centre has asked the state governments to consider the options presented and deliberate on the same. States have been asked to provide their final feedback to the centre by May 25, 2021.
Most of the states were in favour of conducting the examinations. A few states like Delhi, Maharashtra and Kerala asked for vaccination of students before examination.
On April 14, the Education Ministry had announced the decision to cancel the Class 10 Board examination and defer the exam for Class 12 students due to the surge in COVID-19 cases in the country.
