Students demanded clarification on JEE Main 2020 and NEET 2020 Entrance Exams
After the Supreme Court judgment on cancellation of CBSE pending board exams for class 10 and 12 and the approval of a new assessment scheme, students have started demanding the clarification on JEE Main 2020 and NEET UG 2020 Entrance Exams too from the HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’.
Taking to social media, JEE and NEET aspirants have been demanding for the postponement of JEE Main scheduled to be held on July 18 to 23 and NEET 2020 exam scheduled to be held on July 26, 2020. Students have protested against the conduct of the entrance exams in July, citing safety concerns and prioritizing ‘health over exams’.
With the decision on CBSE Board exams, hopes of JEE and NEET aspirants for postponement of the exams went high.
“Kindly look into the matter of NEET 2020…we are eagerly waiting for an official notice…we are very stressed, anxious, and frustrated right now,” one of a user wrote to the minister on Twitter
“We are requesting you for almost one month. Still, you haven’t given any single response. NEET and JEE are also in July. If CBSE is canceled then NEET and JEE must be postponed,” another user wrote
Last week, the education minister held meetings with the top education officials of the country, including the director-general of the National Testing Agency, to discuss “various issues” related to education during COVID-19. However, no announcement regarding entrance exams has been made yet.
