BCECEB announces Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE) 2024 for Admission, Apply now
Bihar BCECE 2024 – Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) is conducting Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE) 2024 for admission to various program offered in following Streams –
- Pharmacy Stream:
- Degree courses of Government Pharmacy Institutes of Bihar recognized by the Government.
- Medical Stream:
- Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy/Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Technology/Bachelor of Operation Theatre Technology/Bachelor of Radio Imaging Technology/Bachelor of Optometry/B.Sc. Nursing (Government Private) and other similar courses of Government Institutes of Bihar.
- Agriculture Stream:

- 50% seats of Bachelor of Agriculture/Bachelor of Horticulture/Bachelor of Forestry courses of Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour (Bhagalpur) will be filled from the combined merit list of PCM and PCB and the remaining 50% seats will be filled from the combined merit list of CBA (Chemistry, Biology & Agriculture Sc.)/ (PCA) Physics, Chemistry & Agriculture Sc. / (MBA) Mathematics, Biology & Agriculture Sc. / (MCA) Mathematics, Chemistry & Agriculture Sc.
- The seats of Undergraduate Fisheries Science of Bihar Animal Science University, Patna will be filled from the PCB Group of the combined merit list
- After two rounds of online counseling of the candidates appearing in JEE (Main) examination for admission in the first year of undergraduate engineering courses conducted under the engineering colleges of the state and B.Tech. (Dairy Technology) course under Sanjay Gandhi Gauvya Technology Institute, Patna, the vacant seats will be filled through two online counseling on the basis of merit-cum-choice from the candidates of PCM Group of Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (B.C.E.C.E.)-2024 conducted by Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board. These will also include the courses of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Women’s Institute of Technology, Navodaya Complex, Kameshwar Nagar, Darbhanga operated under Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Darbhanga. Eligibility Criteria
Residential:
- Only those applicants can get admission who are residents of India and whose parents are permanent residents of Bihar. Or
- Whose parents are refugees registered in Bihar. Or
- Whose parents are residents of other states but are employees of Bihar Government. Or
- Whose parents are employees of pre-reorganization Bihar Government whose cadre has not been divided yet and whose post is still transferable to Bihar/Jharkhand State. Or
- Whose parents are employees of Government of India posted in Bihar or employees of factories or institutions run by Government of India (Public Sector Undertaking of Govt. of India) located in Bihar. Or
- Whose parents are employees of the United Nations and are currently posted in Bihar.
Engineering and Technology (4 Years course) :
-
- Passed 10+2 examination with Physics/ Mathematics/ Chemistry/ Computer Science/ Electronics/ Information Technology/ Biology/ Informatics practices/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational Subject/ Agriculture / Engineering Graphics / Business Studies / Entrepreneurship as per Annexure-7.
- Agriculture stream (for Agriculture Engineering)
- Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. OR
- Passed min.3 years diploma examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) subject to vacancies in the first year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.(The Universities will offer suitable bridge course such as mathematics physics engineering drawing, etc. for the student coming from diverse backgrounds to prepare level playing field and desired learning outcomes of the programme).
- Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Women’s Institute of Technology, Darbhanga (4 Years course)
- (a) Information Technology –
- Minimum education qualification : Passed in I.S.C. or equivalent
- Subject : Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics or Biology.
- (b) Computer Sc. & Engg. –
- Minimum education qualification : Passed in I.S.C. or equivalent
- Subject : Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics, Science or Biology.
Pharmacy (Four years Course):
- Pharmacy course requires passing 10+2/equivalent examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects and Mathematics/Biology as optional subjects.
- Candidates appearing for Intermediate or equivalent examination can also apply but they must have passed 10+2/equivalent examination by the time of interview/counselling.
- Physical: The applicants selected for admission will undergo medical examination. Only if the applicant is found fit in the examination, he will be given admission. A separate fee will be charged for this examination.
- Age limit : There is no age limit prescribed for admission to engineering courses.
- For admission to Pharmacy course, the minimum age of the applicant should be 17 years as on 31st December of the examination year.
Medical Stream:
- Passed 10+2/Higher Secondary/I.S.C./equivalent examinations with English (as language and literature), Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology) subjects for medical stream courses such as Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapy, Paramedical Graduate Courses.
- Passed 10+2 (Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English subjects) with minimum 45% marks in aggregate for B.Sc. (Nursing) course.
- Candidates appearing in the current session (2024) in Intermediate or equivalent examination can also apply, but it will be necessary to pass by the time of interview / counseling.
- According to the letter received from the Health Department, Government of Bihar, “In future, if any order / direction is received from the State Government / Government of India Hon’ble Court, then action will be taken after considering it accordingly.”
- Physical: Applicants selected for admission will be medically examined. The applicant will be given admission only if found eligible in the examination. A separate fee will be charged for this examination.
- Age Limit: The minimum age limit for admission in the medical stream should be 17 years on 31 December of the examination year.
Agriculture Stream:
- The minimum educational qualification for enrollment in the courses available in Agriculture stream in Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour (Bhagalpur) will be as per the following.
- Bachelor of Agriculture (50% seats) (BSC Agriculture)
- Minimum education qualification : Passed in I.S.C. or equivalent
- Subject : Physics, Chemistry & Biology/Mathematics.
- Horticulture Graduate (50% seats) BSC (Garden)
- Minimum education qualification : Passed in I.S.C. or equivalent
- Subject : Physics, Chemistry & Biology/Mathematics.
- Bachelor of Forestry (50% seats) BSc (Forestry)
- Minimum education qualification : Passed in I.S.C. or equivalent
- Subject : Physics, Chemistry & Biology/Mathematics.
- Bachelor of Agriculture, Horticulture and Forestry (50% seats) (Agriculture group)
- Minimum education qualification : Passed in I.S.C. (Agriculture)
- Subject : Chemistry, Biology and Agricultural Science or Physics, Chemistry and Agricultural Science or Mathematics, Biology and Agricultural Science or Mathematics, Chemistry and Agricultural Science (see table 3)
- The minimum educational qualification for enrollment in the courses available in Bihar Animal Sciences University, Patna will be as per the following.
- Gavya Technical Graduate (B.Tech Dairy Technology)
- Minimum education qualification : Passed in I.S.C. or equivalent
- Subject : Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics / Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics and Biology.
- Bachelor of Fisheries Sciences (BFSC)
- Minimum education qualification : Passed in I.S.C. or equivalent
- Subject : Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & Biology / Physics, Chemistry & Biology / Agriculture.
- Candidates appearing in Intermediate or equivalent examinations can also apply, but it will be necessary to qualify at the time of interview / counselling.
- Physical: Applicants selected for admission will undergo a medical examination. The applicant will be given admission only if found eligible in the investigation. A separate fee will be charged for this investigation.
- Age Limit: for admission to Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour (Bhagalpur), the minimum age of the applicant will be 16 years as on 31st August of the examination year. Minimum age limit is not prescribed.

Application Fee
- Candidates who belong to the general economically weaker section / backward class / extremely backward class and wish to appear in the examination in any one of the subject groups such as PCM (Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics) or PCB (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) or Agriculture Group such as Chemistry, Biology and Agricultural Science (CBA) or Physics, Chemistry and Agricultural Science (PCA) or Mathematics, Biology and Agricultural Science (MBA) or Mathematics, Chemistry and Agricultural Science (MCA) will have to pay an amount of Rs. 1000/- (one thousand) as examination fee. Whereas for SC/ST/PWD (DQ) category candidates, they will have to pay an amount of Rs. 500/- (five hundred) as examination fee for examination in one Subject Group.
- If General/Economically Weaker Section/Backward Class/Extremely Backward Class candidates wish to appear in all four subjects viz. PCMB (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & Biology) Subject Group, then they will have to pay Rs. 1100/- (one thousand one hundred) as examination fee. SC/ST/PWD (DQ) category candidates will have to pay an examination fee of Rs. 550/- (five hundred fifty) for examination in all four subjects viz. PCMB (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & Biology) Group.
- Mode of Payment : Online through credit card or debit card or net banking or UPI
Bihar BCECE 2024 Exam Pattern
- The candidates will have to appear for the exam to be conducted by BCECE. This year there will be only one stage of the exam which contains objective type questions.
- Duration : Each section paper is 1.5 hours (90 minutes).
- Number of Questions : There are 100 questions in each subject.
- Total No of Marks : Maximum Marks in each subject is 400.
- Types of Question : The questions are MCQ type
- Marking Scheme : +4 for each correct answer and One mark deducted for every wrong answer.
