CDS Application Form 2024: Date, Apply Online, Registration Fee

CDS Application Form 2024 – Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the Combined Defence Service Examination twice a year. The CDS 2024 Application Form will be released on the website – upsc.gov.in. The official UPSC CDS Notification 2024 will be released online for CDS 1 on December 20, 2023, and for CDS 2 on May 15, 2024. Candidates must also check the eligibility requirements for the CDS Exam before filling the application form.

 

CDS Application Form 2024 Date

It is important that applicants keep track of all the important dates for CDS so that they do not miss out on any information. CDS II Iexam dates are out for the year 2024. The exam for Combined Defence Services is scheduled to be conducted as per the schedule listed below:

  • Online Registration Start Date: 15th May 2024
  • Last Date for Submission of Applications: 04th June 2024 till 6:00 pm
  • Online Application Withdrawn: 05th June 2024 to 11th June 2024 
  • CDS II Admit Card Release Date: Before Exam
  • CDS II Exam Date 2024: 01st September 2024
  • Result: To be notified

 

How to Fill CDS Application Form 2024?

The CDS application form has two parts: Part 1 and Part 2. Check out the details on steps to apply for this exam below:

Part-1: This part involves the registration process. Candidates have to enter personal details and other information. After successful registration, a registration ID will be generated, which will be required to proceed to part 2 of filling up the CDS application form.

Part-2: Candidates have to enter their payment details, and examination centre, and upload their photograph, signature, photo identity card, and declaration.

 

Part-1 Registration

 

The following steps have to be followed for registering for CDS exam-

Step 1 : Visit the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) official link – upsconline.nic.in 

Step 2 : Click on ‘ONLINE APPLICATION FOR VARIOUS EXAMINATIONS OF UPSC‘.

Step3 : Candidates will see the examination code ‘CDS 1’. Click on ‘Click Here for Part I’.

Step 4 : Read the instructions carefully that are available both in Hindi and English. Next, click on ‘Yes‘.

Step 5: Enter the following details:

  • Personal Details:
  • Name
  • Gender
  • Date of Birth
  • Father’s Name
  • Mother’s Name
  • Nationality – India/Others
  • Marital Status – Unmarried/Married/Widow/Widower/Divorcee
  • Community – EWS/General/OBC/SC/ST
  • Do You Belong to Minority – Yes or No
  • Fee Remission Allowed – Yes or No
  • Educational Qualification: The candidate has to select any one of the following: Passed/Appeared/Appearing:
  • Final year degree or equivalent examination (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level)
  • Final year of the engineering degree examination
  • Final year degree or equivalent examination with other subjects (i.e. other than those mentioned)
  • Address/Residential Address Details:
  • Postal Address
  • District / City District
  • State / UT States
  • PIN Code
  • Phone No. with Area Code
  • Email ID

Step 6 : Click on ‘Continue’.

Step 7 : Enter the following:

  • Photo identity card details
  • Whether or not you hold a commercial pilot license issued by DGCA (India)
  • Preferences among IMA, NA, AFA, OTA, and other details

Step 8 : Click on ‘Continue’.

Step 9 : Validate all the information that has been provided, enter the Captcha and click on ‘I Agree’.

Step 10 : The Registration ID will be generated. Make sure to note down the ID.

 

Part-2 Registration

Once the system has generated the registration ID, a new option called ‘Click Here for Part II Registration’ will be activated. Click on the option to continue by entering the registration ID, date of birth, and captcha.

 

Step 1 : Log on to upsconline.nic.in.

Step 2 : Click on ‘ONLINE APPLICATION FOR VARIOUS EXAMINATIONS OF UPSC’.

Step 3 : Under the examination code ‘CDS’, click on ‘Click Here for Part II’.

Step 4 : Enter the registration ID, date of birth, and captcha.

Step 5 : Click on ‘Submit’.

Step 6 : Select a mode of payment. If offline payment has been opted for, then generate an e-challan and make the payment in one of the branches of SBI.

Step 7 : Once the application fee has been paid, select the preferences for the exam centre.

Step 8 : Upload the photograph, signature, and photo ID proof.

Step 9 : Agree to the declaration and submit the application form.

 

Note- If a candidate submits multiple applications by mistake or due to some error in the system, only the final application submitted will be considered for scrutiny. In such a case, they must make sure that the most recent application is complete in all aspects.

 

CDS Application Fee

Applicants have the option to pay the application fee online and offline at their convenience. The CDS application fee for different categories is tabulated below:

Mode of Payment

Online: Candidates can pay the application fee through SBI’s net banking facility or using Visa/Master/Rupay Credit/Debit Card.

Offline: Candidates can also pay the application fee by depositing the fee in any branch of SBI or bank account. Upon depositing the fee, candidates must enter the details of the paid receipt to complete the payment.

 

 

Important Instructions for CDS Apply Online

 

Candidates must exercise caution while filling up the application form as discrepancies found later may lead to disqualification. Candidates must also ensure that they fill up the CDS Application form and pay the application fee well before the deadline to avoid last minute hassle.

CDS Application Correction Window : The UPSC allows you to make changes to your CDS application form. The CDS application correctional facility application form will be available for a limited time. UPSC has established the One Time Registration (OTR) platform for candidates to use when filling out an application form for any UPSC exam. The OTR can be completed at any time of year. Candidates are permitted to make adjustments to their OTR within 7 days of registering on the OTR.

In case candidates wish  to withdraw their CDS Application they can withdraw their application for the Examination and the detailed instructions in this regard are mentioned in the Examination Notice. The candidates can follow the given steps to withdraw their application, however, the application fee once paid will not be refunded.

Before starting the online application process for UPSC CDS Exam, candidates must have the following information ready with them:

 

  • Soft copies of the matriculation certificate & other educational documents (to fill out the application form)

CDS Application Form 2024 FAQs


Q: What is the last date to apply for the UPSC CDS 2024 exam?
A: The last date to apply online for the CDS 2024 exam will be notified soon.

Q. What is the application fee for the CDS exam?
A. The application fee for the Combined Defence Services CDS exam varies depending on the category and gender of the candidate.

  • For candidates of General category and male candidates of the OBC category: Rs. 200/-
  • For female candidates and candidates belonging to the SC/ST categories: No fee


Q. How can I make changes if I have selected the wrong category for the CDS exam?
A. You can fill out a fresh form and make the changes in that form till the application deadline. Application fees will have to be paid again.

Q. Can the application fee be refunded after submission of CDS Application Form?
A. No after the submission of the CDS application form, the application fee cannot be refunded. However, the application can be withdrawn.

Q. Can I fill multiple forms for the CDS Exam?
A. Only under unavoidable circumstances may more than one form be submitted. Candidates must pay the fees again.
