NIPER JEE 2024 – The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research [NIPER], Guwahati, is conducting NIPER JEE 2024 for admission to Master and PhD programs offered by all the NIPERs. Application Process
- Applicants shall apply online on www.niperguwahati.ac.in as per instructions given on the website. The process of online application shall commence from 25th April 2024 onwards and will continue till 24th May 2024 (The proposed dates are tentative, and any changes will be updated on the NIPER Guwahati / NIPER JEE website). The webpage for the online application form could be accessed through the link provided on the official website of NIPER Guwahati / NIPER JEE 2024 (https://niperguwahati.ac.in/niperjee/). The online application process comprises of following steps:
- Step 1: Payment of Application Fee
- Step 2: Know your payment status
- Step 3: Fill in all the details in your online Application Form
- Step 4: Preview your duly filled in Application Form
- Step 5: Verify your details and submit your Application Form
- Step 6: Take the printout of the Application Form and submit at the time of physical counselling.
- While filling out the online application form, please choose the email ID you access frequently, as all communications from the NIPER Guwahati JEE Office will be sent to that email ID only (do not use anybody else’s email address). NIPER JEE office is no way responsible in case wrong email ID or mobile number is registered.

Admission Process
PhD Program
- Admission to the PhD Program will be based on the combined merit obtained by a candidate in the NIPER JEE (85%) and interview (15%). Interview of the eligible candidates for the PhD Program will be conducted based on the marks scored in the NIPER JEE
Masters Program
- Admission to M.S.(Pharm.), M.Pharm., programmes will be conducted through Physical counselling procedure. Counselling would be based on merit obtained by the candidates in the common entrance examination conducted in the morning session under admission to M.S. (Pharm.)/ M.Pharm. /MBA (Pharm.) category.
- Note: Candidates need to attend counselling at NIPER Guwahati physically. The exact dates will be notified on the NIPER Guwahati /NIPER JEE 2024 website. TA/DA will NOT be paid.
- Admission for MBA (Pharm.) is based on combined merit in the common entrance exam conducted in the morning session under admission to M.S. (Pharm.)/ M.Pharm. /MBA (Pharm.) category (85%) followed by Group discussion (15%).
- Note: Candidates must attend group discussion physically at NIPER Guwahati followed by counselling. The exact dates will be notified on the NIPER Guwahati/ NIPER JEE 2024 website. TA/DA will NOT be paid for the group discussion and counselling.
- Admission for M.Tech. programmes will be conducted through physical counselling. Counselling would be based on the separate merit obtained by the candidates in the exam conducted in the afternoon session under admission to M.Tech. category of the respective subject.
NIPER JEE 2024 Exam Pattern
For Master’s Program
- Duration of the examination will be 2 hours
- There will be a common question paper (Preferably in the morning session on the day of exam) for candidates willing to take admission under M.S. (Pharm.)/ M.Pharm. /MBA Programmes.
- A separate exam will be conducted for M.Tech / M.Tech. programmes like Biotechnology/ Process Chemistry/Medicinal Chemistry and Medical Devices (Preferably in the afternoon session on the day of exam). Only one option will be given to one candidate from the above M.Tech courses.
- Candidates who are interested to apply for M.S. (Pharm.)/ M.Pharm./MBA (Pharm.) programme and M.Tech programme need to apply under combined category in the portal by paying specified amount in the Table (candidates are allowed to appear for the exam in both the sessions).
- Exact time of the exam will be specified in the hall ticket.
- The question paper for both the sessions I & II will consist of 200 multiple choice questions under two sections. Section A comprised of 25% questions from General English, Aptitude, Reasoning, and General Knowledge etc. Section B comprised of 75% questions from the syllabi of B. Pharm. and PG degrees (MSc.) in the relevant fields.
For PhD Program
- Duration of the examination will be 2 hours.
- There will be an objective type of question paper containing 170 questions of 85 marks, for each of the following areas i.e. Chemical Sciences; Biological Sciences; Pharmaceutical Sciences; and Pharmaceutical Management. A separate exam for the Ph.D. admission to Medical Devices will be conducted in the afternoon session on the day of NIPER JEE 2024. The exam paper pattern will be as specified above.
- The standard of the question paper will be equivalent to the syllabus of M.S. (Pharm.); M.Pharm.; M.Tech. (Pharm.); M.Tech/M.E., M.V.Sc., M.D., Pharm.D., M.Sc. (in relevant discipline) and MBA level. c. The question paper of each discipline contains two sections. Section A comprised of 25% questions from general ‘Pharmaceutical Sciences,’ General Aptitude, General English, Aptitude and Reasoning. Section B is comprised of 75% questions from the respective disciplines i.e., from subjects of Chemical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Management. Whereas for Medical Devices, 75% of the questions come from the syllabus of M.Tech. Medical Devices or its equivalent.
Marking Scheme
- Each question carries 0.5 mark.
- For each incorrect response 0.125 mark will be deducted from the total score.
- No marks will be given for Un-answered or un-attempted questions.
- In case a question is dropped due to some technical error, full marks shall be given to all the candidates irrespective of the fact who have attempted it or not.
