Controversy

Despite being one of India’s greatest spin wizards, Harbhajan’s career was plagued by numerous disputes.

Greg Chappell and Sourav Ganguly had a nasty argument in 2005, and Bhajji publicly criticised the coach while defending his captain. According to Harbhajan, the camp was filled with “fear and insecurity” as a result of Chappell’s rigid techniques.

Altercations with Andrew Symonds and Sreesanth- Later in 2008, he became involved in another scandal known as “Monkeygate.” For reportedly calling Australian batsman Andrew Symonds a “monkey,” Harbhajan was charged with a Level 3 offence of racial abuse.

As was previously said, Harbhajan is a well-known player in the IPL. Harbhajan’s slapping of Sreesanth will remain a notorious moment from the 2008 season. After the game between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) at Mohali, Bhajji, who was heading the Mumbai Indians, slapped Sreesanth. He was suspended for the remaining games in addition to being fined the match money for the game.
