PGIMER Chandigarh M.Sc and M.Sc. MLT Admission 2024 – Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER) Chandigarh has invited applications for admission to M.Sc and MSc. Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) Courses for the academic session commencing from July 2024 Session. The Institute was established in1962 under the erstwhile state of Punjab. It was declared as an Institute of National Importance by an Act of Parliament. The admission to the House Job of the Institute is made on merit on an all India basis by holding an entrance examination by the Institute. Eligibility Criteria
For M.Sc. Courses
-
- M.Sc. (PHARMACOLOGY) : MBBS passed or its equivalent qualification from a University/Institute recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) or B.Sc (Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry taken together) or B.v.Sc. Or B. Pharma passed from a recognized University.
- M.Sc. (PHARMACOLOGY) : MBBS passed or its equivalent qualification from a University/Institute recognized by the Medical Council of India or B.Sc (Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry taken together) or B.V.Sc. or B. Pharma passed from a recognized University.
- M.Sc. (ANATOMY) : The candidate must possess one of the following qualifications and should have secured at least 55% marks for general category (50% marks in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates) in aggregate in the qualifying examination:-
- a) MBBS/BDS
- b) B.V.Sc
- c) B.Sc with Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry
- d) B.Sc. Nursing
- e) Bachelor of Physical Therapy Or
- M.Sc. Physical Anthropology, Zoology or Human Biology with 50% marks for General category and 45% marks for SC/ST/OBC category candidates.
- M.Sc. (RESPIRATORY CARE) : B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology or B.Sc. in Nursing or B.Sc. Medical or Bachelor of Physiotherapy from any University within India or equivalent degree from any other recognized University/Institute with at least 55% marks.
- For Sponsored Candidates- B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology or B.Sc. in Nursing or B.Sc. Medical or Bachelor of Physiotherapy from any University within India or equivalent degree from any other recognized University/Institute with at least 55% marks and at least 3 years experience in their respective fields after obtaining qualification of B.Sc.
- M.Sc. (ANAESTHESIA) : For Sponsored Candidates- B.Sc. in Medical Technology (Operation Theatre) from recognized University with at least 55% marks and at least 3 years experience in their respective fields after obtaining qualification of B.Sc.
- M.Sc. MLT (Transfusion Medicine) : B.Sc. or B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology degree from a recognized Institute/University with at least 55% marks. The candidate requires 6 months of experience in the blood bank component laboratory post B.Sc. MLT.
- For Sponsored Candidates : B.Sc. or B.Sc. Medical Technology degree from a University/Institute recognized by this Institute with at least 55% marks and 3 years experience as a technician in the subject in which admission is sought from a teaching research Institute/Hospital after obtaining qualification of B.Sc. or B.Sc. Medical Technology.
- M.Sc. (MEDICAL BIOPHYSICS) : B.Sc. (MBBS/BDS/B.Pharma/B.PH.T/B.Sc with at least one subject of biological sciences) from any recognized University with at least 55% aggregate in qualifying examination for General Category and 50% marks for the candidates belonging to SC/ST category. The upper age limit will be 35 years. Relaxation by 5 years for sponsored candidates.
- M.Sc. in Stem Cell & translational Medicine : 1. Candidates should have passed graduate degree (B.Sc./BS) in Life Sciences, Pharmacology, Biotechnology, Dental (BDS), Medicine & Surgery (MBBS) from a UGC/Govt. of India recognized University/Institute.
- 2. Minimum percentage of marks: 55% aggregate for general category and 50% aggregate for candidates belonging to SC/ST category.
- M.Sc. Nuclear Medicine Technology : Candidates should have passed B.Sc. in Nuclear Medicine/Physics/Biophysics or
- B.Sc. with Physics and Chemistry (Non-Medical stream) or
- B.Sc. in Chemistry & Zoology (Medical stream) as core subjects,
- Note: Candidates with B.Sc. degree through correspondence and Open University stream will not be eligible.
For MSc MLT Courses
- The admission to M.Sc. Medical Technology courses Sr.No.1 to 12 in different subjects is restricted for Sponsored/Deputed candidates.
- M.Sc. Medical Technology (Radiodiagnosis): B.Sc. with diploma in Radiography from a University/Institute recognized by this Institute and having cleared with at least 55% marks each exam with not more than one attempt and three years experience as a technician in the concerned subject Or
- B.Sc. Medical Technology degree (X-ray/Radiology/Radiodiagnosis & Imaging) from a University/Institute recognized by this Institute with at least 55% marks and three years experience as a technician in the subject concerned.
- M.Sc. Medical Technology (Radiotherapy) : B.Sc. Medical Technology (Radiotherapy) from a University/Institute recognized by this Institute and having cleared with at least 55% marks and three years experience as a technician in the subject in which admission is sought from a teaching research Institute/Hospital after obtaining qualification of B.Sc. or B.Sc. Medical Technology.
- For remaining M.Sc. Medical Technology courses (from Sr.No.1 to 10) : B.Sc. or B.Sc. Medical Technology degree from a University/Institute recognized by this Institute with at least 55% marks and three years experience as a technician in the subject in which admission is sought from a teaching research Institute/Hospital after obtaining qualification of B.Sc. or B.Sc. Medical Technology.
- Note : Relaxation of 5% marks in the b.sc. Medical Technology Degree to the candidates from SC/ST Category having 15 years of regular service, who wish to pursue m.sc. Medical Technology Course of the Institute, as an in-service candidate for the purpose of eligibility for admission to the Medical Technology course of the Institute.
Other Eligibility Conditions & Requirements
- Sponsored / Deputed Candidates – A candidate applying for admission is required to furnish the following certificates from his/her employer for admission to the course:-
- (i) That the candidate concerned is a permanent or regular employee of the deputing/sponsoring authority for the atleast three years.
- (ii) That after getting the training at PGIMER, the candidate will be suitably employed by the deputing/sponsoring authority to work in the subject in which the training is received by the candidate at PGI, Chandigarh.

Application Process
- A candidate seeking admission to the Entrance Examination is required to submit his/her application in the prescribed format available online with the Prospectus on pgimer.edu.in
Online Registration
- After selecting the online registration, fill the mandatory details asked for and deposit the prescribed fee through debit/credit card/Net Banking.
- After submitting fees, filling the required information step by step. Follow the Instructions carefully.
- It will be the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that correct details are filled in the Registration Slip
- No candidate should register more than one application.
- All applicants are required to ensure that Photo/Signature is uploaded according to the instructions provided in the Prospectus. Failure to do so may result in rejection of applications.

- SC/ST Category : Rs. 1200/- + Transaction Charges as applicable
- General /OBC/Sponsored Category: Rs. 1500/- + Transaction Charges as applicable.
