About Sikkim Manipal College of Nursing (SMCON)
- Sikkim Manipal College of Nursing (SMCON) is one of the constituent colleges of Sikkim Manipal University. SMCON imparts four year B. Sc Nursing Degree Program and M. Sc Nursing of two years. Both the programs are recognized by the Indian Nursing Council and Sikkim Nursing Council. Programs at SMCON are directed to upgrade the critical thinking skills, competencies and standards required for practice of professional nursing and midwifery. The degrees are awarded by the Sikkim Manipal University. Students from all over the country are eligible to take admission in these programs.

Eligibility Criteria
For B.Sc. Nursing:
- The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on 31st December of the year in
which admission is sought. The maximum age limit for admission shall be 35 years.
- Candidates with Science who have passed the qualifying 12th Standard examination (10+2) and must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together and passed in English individually.
- Candidate shall be medically fit.
For M.Sc. Nursing:
- The minimum educational requirements shall be the passing of B. Sc Nursing / B. Sc Hons. Nursing/Post Basic B. Sc Nursing with minimum of 55% marks in aggregate.
- The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife or equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council.
- B. Sc Nursing graduate should have a minimum one year of experience in a hospital or in a College or in a School of Nursing or in Community Health Program after registration in State Nursing Council.
- Post Basic B. Sc Nursing graduates should have a minimum one year of work experience prior or after in a hospital or in a College or in a School of Nursing or in Community Health Program after registration in State Nursing Council.
- The candidate registered as “Registered Nurse” (& not Midwife) will not be eligible for specialization in “Obstetric & Gynaecological Nursing”
- Candidate shall be medically fit. The candidate, selected for admission in M. Sc Nursing course shall have to submit a medical fitness certificate from a physician during the admission.
- Candidates who have obtained degree qualification of distance mode will submit NOC from INC during admission.
- The following criteria will be applied to foreign students seeking admission to M. Sc Nursing course:
- Equivalency of the degree of the candidate is to be recognized/ validated by Indian Nursing Council
- The candidates must have no objection certificates from the Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. Of India and Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India.

- First register online then log in using the same email and password to file an online application by paying Rs. 1000/- (online payment). On successful payment, candidates will be provided with an application number.
- Next upload the required documents (candidates need to keep ready scanned documents, photo and signature to upload (.jpg format only with maximum file size 200KB, 200 px x 200 px).

Selection Procedure
For B.Sc Nursing
- Admissions will be done on the basis of marks obtained in the 10+2 qualifying examination. The physical presence of the candidate during admission is mandatory.
- Eligible candidates can take direct admission without any entrance examination.
For M.Sc. Nursing
- Admission will be based on the inter-se merit of the candidates on the basis of percentage of aggregate marks secured in B. Sc Nursing/ P.B.B.Sc Nursing and the eligibility criteria.
- Admission will be confirmed after successful verification of the original documents.
