Registration Process for CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship 2023 begins, Last date October 18
CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship 2023 – The Central Board of Secondary Education has begun the registration process for CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship 2023 on its official website from September 19, 2023. The registration is open for Single Girl Child Scholarship X 2023 Scheme and Single Girl Child Scholarship X 2022 (Renewal 2023). Interested and eligible candidates can apply online for the same through the official website till October 18, 2023. No other form of application is accepted.
The CBSE grants Merit Scholarships to single girl child every year. This scholarship scheme was started in the year 2006 by CBSE. The scholarship is aimed at recognising the efforts of those parents who are promoting education among their only daughters.
As a part of this scholarship, the students get Rs 500 per month. The scholarship is awarded for a maximum period of two years. Only Indian citizens will receive the scholarship. The number of scholarships for a particular year shall be variable and shall be awarded to all such “Single Girl Students” who have secured 60% or more marks in the CBSE Class X Exam in that year.
As per the notice, the board has also asked the affiliated schools to verify the application forms of the students who have registered for the Girl Child Scholarship. The verification process will begin on September 25, 2023 to October 25, 2023 on the official website of the board.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, candidates should be the only child in the family. They should have secured 60 % marks in Class 10 from schools which are affiliated with CBSE and. They should also be currently studying in Class 11 or 12 in CBSE affiliated schools whose tuition fee is not more than ₹1,500/- p.m. during the academic year. The NRI applicants studying in CBSE affiliated schools can also apply for the scholarship, however, they will not be entitled for a tuition fee of more than ₹ 6,000 per month.
For Renewal, students should have received the CBSE Single Girl Child Merit Scholarship last year and should have been a student of CBSE in class XI in the previous year and have scored 50% or more marks in Class XI and promoted to class XII
Application Process
The candidates can apply online for CBSE Merit Scholarship for Single Girl Child. The girl students should register themselves by filling the necessary information in the online application form available on Board’s website www.cbse.nic.in under Scholarship. The duly filled in proforma be sent in an envelope super scribing “APPLICATION FOR CBSE MERIT SCHOLARSHIP FOR SGC X F – 2 (RENEWAL)” should be sent to the “Assistant Secretary (Scholarship), CBSE, Shiksha Kendra, 2 Community Centre, Preet Vihar, Delhi 110092”
